(Sure)
The Innocent and the Bad Boy (CLOSED)
The next day, Paige was at school, in all of her classes, looking extremely tired. She constantly was falling asleep in class, very unlike her, and startling herself awake.
Colton was on edge all day. He’d taken a pretty bad beating last night and was worried about Paige, making him extra snappy.
Paige looked desperately for Colton during lunch. She had to find him. She needed someone to talk to.
Colton was sitting at the far end of the cafeteria. He waved Paige over when he saw her.
She rushed over, her eyes clouded with emotion. “I’m so sorry,” she blurted before she even sat down.
Colton frowned a little, “What are you sorry for?” He asked gently.
“Yesterday… Everything… I didn’t mean for her to show up. I forgot. I’m sorry,” she rambled.
“Hey,” He reached out and took her hand, squeezing it gently, “It’s fine, that wasn’t your fault.”
Her eyes were wide, yet they still overflowed with pain. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she whispered.
Colton stood and went and sat next to her, pulling her into a hug, “Shh, it’s okay…”
Paige whimpered softly into his shoulder. “They’re staring,” she whispered.
“Let them,” Colton replied, “They can all go to hell.”
“That’s easy for you to say,” she replied quietly, his shirt muffling her words.
“If you’re uncomfortable, I can let go,” He said, resting his chin atop her head despite his words.
“No,” she replied, scooting closer into his arms.
“Okay then,” Colton sighed through is nose, glaring at a few people who were looking their way and they instantly found something better to do.
“Are you okay?” she asked quietly. “With everything?”
Colton nodded, “Of course I am. If I wasn’t I’d tell you, promise.”
“Okay.”
Someone approached from behind. “Paige? What are you doing?”
Paige turned around quickly. “Bryson! I was just… uh…” (her brother)
Colton frowned a little, “We were just hugging, is there anything wrong with that?”
(May I stalk?)
“Well, who are you?” the overprotective brother asked.
“Bryson, not now…” Paige whispered.
(May I stalk?)
(Yeah, of course!)
“I’m Colton.” He replied simply.
Bryson arched his eyebrow. “Colton Roberts?” He’d heard of the guy. Didn’t exactly have the greatest reputation.
Colton sighed and nodded, “Unfortunately so, yes.”
“Why are you with my little sister?”
Paige bit her lip and curled into Colton’s chest.
Colton shrugged and wrapped Paige up protectively, “Maybe because we’re friends and she was sad so I’m comforting her.”
Bryson pressed his lips together. “Is this about Mom?”
Paige didn’t answer, only tensed.
