Vaughn gave a loose shrug before leaning back. “Looks a bit similar,” he stated.

"Don't play games with me boy." She glanced up at him, slowly playing with the knife on her desk. One wrong move and it'd go straight through her wrist.

Vaughn looked at the knife, but seemed relaxed and calm. “I’m not plaing any games. I;m telling the truth,” he responded, eyes meeting hers.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

Her eyes were still unyielding and cold. Getting past her hard exterior was not an easy thing to do. "Sure. Let's go with that."

Vaughn licked his lips with another shrug. “Great, then,” he stated smoothly.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She sat back in her chair. "So. Do you admit to the murders or do I have more work to do?"

“Yoou have much more work to do. Starting with a new lead,” Vaughn stated simply.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

The corners of her lips tilted up slightly and while the smile was extremely small, it seemed to light up her entire face. "You're funny Vaughn."

Vaughn arched a brow, eyes narrowing. “Sarcasm?” He asked. The whispers made a loud, impatient noise, and he grimaced faintly.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

The smile disappeared as soon as it came, her eyes darkening and becoming shadowed. "Of course."

“That’s what I assumed,” Vaughn said, tilting his head to pop his neck. His eyes flicked around the room for a moment.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

It was fairly simplistic. There was a bookshelf along one wall with books neatly lined up. The only thing that added life to the room was the picture of her and her sister from 3 years ago, only a couple months before she was killed, hanging on the wall.

Vaughn stared at the photo for a long moment, assuming the woman by her was her sister. “Mine passed away too, you know,” he stated after a moment.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She stared into the joyful green eyes of her twin sister for a couple seconds until her heart began to hurt and she looked away. "How so?"

Vaughn gave a shrug. “Just happened one day. She was young,” he commented. He wouldn’t go into detail. He looked down at the visible tattoo. He couldn’t get upset now.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"So was Jace." She mumbled under her breath. It hurt to talk about her sister. It had been three years and she had gotten nowhere on who the killer could be.

Vaughn nodded his head slowly in response. He tolted his head back up, doing his best to flick the black strands back again.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She shook her head to clear the memories. "Right. Since you don't want to cooperate on this, then I guess I'll just sit here and wait until you're ready to."

“I need to call my parents,” Vaughn said, the words slipping out easily. “I’ve been staying with them. They’ll be wondering what happened to me.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"You mean your foster parents but sure. However, I will be monitoring. Just a precaution."

“Fine with me,” Vaughn stated levely.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She took her phone from her pocket. "What's the number?"

Vaughn thouht before deciding to tell her Veronica’s number. He sat back and waited, knee bouncing.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

The dialed the number, put it on speaker, and placed her phone on the table.

After a few rings, Veronica picked up. “Hello?” She asked, sounding seriously hungover.

“It’s Vaughn. I’m at the police station,” he spoke up.

“You’re fucking kidding me, right?” She asked, giving a groan.

“Wish I was. Helped stop a robbery, and apparently that makes me the bad guy.”

There was a beat of silence before she answered. “Should I call mom or dad? Or Willard?”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Don't call the psychologist, it won't do anything. He said it himself last night, didn't he?" Once again, her tiny smile lit up her face.

Vaughn tensed at that. How would she know anything about the name of his old psychologist.

“The hell is that?” Veronica said upon hearing her voice.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Detective Roxanne Marx. Your foster brother is a suspect in the murders across twelve different towns."

“What the fuck?” Veronica exclaimed.

“Which she doesn’t have any ground evidence for,” Vaughn cut in.

@Elder-God-Jacks347

"Or so he thinks. I have him with me in my office but he insisted on calling you."
