As the smell of the food caught in Vaughn’s nose, he suddenly didn’t feel hungry anymore. What was he doing here? He shouldn’t be here.

If he left, she wouldn't stop him. She'd just find him again the next morning and the cycle would start again until she could get him to confess to the murders.

Vaughn leaned against the counter, deciding he wouldn’t eat. “Are you keeping me here over night?” He asked.
"Yep. Sorry sweetheart, you're stuck here with me." She shrugged, not looking up from her food.

Vaughn resisted the urge to grimace when she called him that. “Can I at lesst get cleaned up, then? Get a shower and such?”
"Knock yourself out." She drained the rest of her whiskey, pouring another glass.

Vaughn nodded his head at that. He walked away and went into the bathroom. He turned the shower water on, undressing as he waited for it to warm up.
She headed to her room. It was the smallest room in the house but it got the job done. A bed and chest of drawers squished into the corner with a desk and chair took up the small space.

Vaughn got in the shower and shut the curtain. He sighed as the shower water hit his skin. He ran his fingers through his hair, getting it wet.
She slid into her chair and turned on her desk light, getting back to work from the night before.

Vaughn picked up a wash rag and got soap on it, scrubbing his skin. He did so a bit hard, scrubbing until his skin was red.
It was doubtful she'd sleep tonight. She rarely ever did but her insomnia medicine hadn't come in yet.

Vaughn washed through his hair, humming quietly to himself as he did so. He shut his eyes as he rinsed the suds from his hair.
She sighed heavily, running her hands through her hair. This was stressful.

After about five minutes later, Vaughn got out of the shower. He dried off and put his clothes from before back on. He then stared at himself in the mirror again, usually neat hair now damp and messy.
She had returned to the living room, a slight smile on her face as she stared off into space.

Vaughn left the bathroom, walking into the living room. “Where am I going to sleep?” He asked.
Her attention snapped back to reality and her smile fell. "Unless you're chill with sharing a bed with me, you'll be sleeping out here."

Vaughn crossed his arms in thought. He needed to get her to trust him. Maybe he would get off the hook, then. “I don’t mind sharing,” he responded.
"Cool. Means less shit for me to wash later." She hopped off the couch, stretching. "Just a warning though, my insomnia medicine hasn't come in yet so it's unlikely I'll sleep so I hope you can sleep with a light on."

Vaughn nodded his head. “I can do that,” he responded.
"Then it's getting late and sleep is important so come on." She motioned for him to follow her into the small space. She took a seat at her desk. "Keep it warm for me, will ya?" She winked with a chuckle. The later it got, the more relaxed she became.

Vaughn followed Roxanne into her bedroom. He clenched his jaw when she winked at him. “Do you mind if I at least take my jeans off? They’d be uncomfortable to sleep in,” he asked.
She shrugged. "It's chill with me. I'm just going to be doing some work so I probably wouldn't notice either way." She glanced up at him, realizing this was the first time she'd really gotten a good look at him. Her eyes scanned his face. He was actually quite handsome for a criminal. She shook her head, what was she thinking?

Vaughn nodded his head. He undid his belt and took it off, then unbuttoned his jeans and pulled them off. He set them aside before getting in the bed.
She shuddered lightly at the sound but shook it off. No time for those memories now. She was past this. She returned her attention to her work, refusing to let her mind wander to the places it wanted to.

Vaughn got under the sheets and rolled onto his side. He shut his eyes, but knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep.
She sat back in her chair, knowing that her normal focus wouldn't come for a while longer. Her eyes flicked to the shining blade that she kept on the corner of her desk, gently taking it into her hands, watching her reflection with a slightly sadistic smile.

Vaughn was almost relieved he had decided not to take is shirt off. His chest was lined with scars from stab wounds and gunshot wounds. He had gone back to his foster family after that. His foster parents were doctors, so they were able to treat him.
She gently dragged the blade along her skin, not enough to draw blood, but enough to leave marks. "Pure polished steel, not yet stained. How innocent." She murmured to herself.
