Vaughn wasn’t asleep yet. His eyes were closed, but he breathed softly as he listened to her. What was she talking about?
"A perfect blade, not yet used. It's really a shame, Jace. I know you would've loved to test this out on someone with me." She chuckled darkly.
pets
Vaughn frowned very faintly. Roxanne had a knife? And know was she talking to? He suddenly felt slightly unsafe and wondered if he should go to the couch.
She put the knife down slowly. "But not tonight. Oh no. Not tonight. Maybe tomorrow if I can find the time. It's been too long since I got my hands dirty with my own work."

Vaughn bit the inside of his cheek slightly. What now, Finley? the whispers asked. He didn’t know.
Her eyes flicked to the stranger in her bed. "Ya know Jace, he's kinda cute. Well, for a criminal." You're stupid, sis. "Yes I'm aware of what you think."
pets
Vaughn resisted the urge to scoff. Was she talking to someone on the phone? That had to be it.
I'd slap you if I could. "Ah but you can't because you're a voice in my head." Have been for 3 years now.

Voice in her head? Oh god.. she was a schizophrenic like Vaughn. Now this really wasn’t good. He considered himself stable, but she didn’t seem stable.
Did you take your meds? "Yes I took my medication, Jace. I'm not completely insane." All of it? "Two for anxiety, two antidepressants, one for schizophrenia, and one for insanity. Yes I took all of it." Good.
pets
Vaughn clenched his jaw as he listened. How was she in law enforcement with all of these mental illnesses?
What about insomnia? "My insomnia meds haven't come in yet, you know this." Right, right. She sighed. "I'm a mess. A complete, utter, mental mess."

Vaughn bit his tongue now. He had to get out of there as soon as he was possibly able to.
She smiled to herself. "Don't think I don't know you're awake still, Vaughn. I'm not stupid."
pets
Vaughn mentally cursed himself and sat up. “You’re unstable,” he hissed out, glaring at her sharply.
"Yes I'm aware of that." She shrugged. "I just choose to make myself emotionless with pills."
pets
“Are you schizophrenic?” Vaughn asked, jaw clenching afterwards.
"Mhm. Haunted by the voice of my dead sister. She's just as annoying dead as she was alive." Hey! "Love ya sis." …love you too.
pets
Vaughn grimaced at that. He didn’t know what his voice was. “How the hell did the agency give you a job, then?”
"Manipulation and contacts. It was actually pretty easy, this town was begging for a hero." She rolled her eyes.
pets
Vaughn narrowed his eyes at her. “I’m going to go sleep on the couch,” he said, getting up and grabbing his pants and belt.
"As expected." She just smiled innocently and turned back to her work.
pets
Vaughn glared at her shortly before leaving. Once in the living room, he sat down on the couch and stretched out. “And she thought I was the psycho,” he mumbled.
You're crazy. "I know." He hates you. "They all do." They're going to find out soon. "That doesn't mean I'm going to stop."
pets
Vaughn huffed, grabbing a blanket from off the back of the couch. He rested it over his lower half as he rested his head down.
You're doing it tonight, aren't you? "Well, duh." You're certified crazy. "Yes I'm aware of that."
pets
Vaughn let his eyes shut again. He sighed, this time trying to fall asleep.
He's gonna see. "Which is why he's my next victim." You won't kill him. "Course not. But a little scare might put him back in line."
pets
Vaughn shifted a bit to get more comfortable. He did his best to go completely asleep, but he was such a light sleeper that he knew he would wake soon enough.
She gently grabbed the knife off her desk and silently entered the living room. Such clear skin. Such a shame it'll be dyed red. There's the crazy sister I know and love. She smirked to herself, padding closer.
