Jayden nodded in understanding. "Do you think you know why?"
The Vampire and The Vampire (Closed)
Taylor shrugged. "Insomnia, probably, but I don't know for sure."
"I'll look into it later," Jayden mumbled to themselves before nodding.
"Alright… shit! Um… Maddy and Nolan?" He asked hurriedly. "Are they okay?"
Jayden nodded. "Yep, they're still playing."
Taylor sighed quietly in relief. "Cool… my mom didn't come back, right?"
Jayden shook their head. "Nope, she's still not here."
"Great. Although I know I will, but I don't want to ever see that bitch again." Taylor opened the door and stepped out into the hall.
"I don't think anyone wants to," Jayden replied, holding the door open for him.
Taylor walked down to the kitchen and glanced around to make sure everything was in order. "Ray!" Nolan dropped his controller and ran in to hug Taylor. Startled at first, Taylor had to take a couple seconds to gather himself before he hugged back. "Thank god you're okay! I thought you were gonna die!" Taylor hugged Nolan a bit tighter. "I don't plan on dying anytime soon, bud. Don't worry."
Jayden closed the door and went on their phone, considering it'd be awkward for them to just stare at them. What time is it? They thought to themself before checking the time on their phone. Damn, should I go?
Taylor released Nolan after a few seconds and looked over at the clock on the wall. "Damn… lunchtime already? I'll get some food started." He headed over into the kitchen and started making sandwiches.
Jayden glanced at Taylor, wandering over to the kitchen. "You want any help?"
"Um… sure, if you want to." Maddy gave Jayden a thumbs up when Taylor wasn't looking.
Jayden was confused by the thumbs up but did the same before going to help Taylor make lunch. What is she trying to say?
Considering they were only making sandwiches, it didn't take long to finish making the food. Taylor brought a plate of sandwiches over to the table and handed them out.
Jayden also helped, because why not, giving a sandwich to Maddy and looking at her with a confused look. "Why did you do that before?"
Maddy made sure Taylor wasn't listening before she responded. "I just meant good job on getting him to let you help him. He doesn't usually do that."
Jayden nodded but looked confused. "He usually lets me help though…"
(sorry it's short)
(Np <3)
"Well, that's good. He never lets us help." Maddy shrugged and Nolan nodded in agreement.
"Oh, okay then," Jayden nodded before sitting down next to Taylor and eating.
Taylor was quietly eating his sandwich, though he was only taking small bites and didn't look like he planned on finishing it.
Jayden glanced at Taylor and looked worried again, hoping he would finish it as they stayed quiet.
Taylor managed to eat about half the sandwich and put the other half in the fridge for later. He checked his watch and sighed. "I have to go to work soon…"
Jayden nodded. "What time is it?" They asked, biting on their sandwich.
"1:30. I work at 2:00, but I'll have to leave about fifteen minutes early to account for traffic."
Jayden hummed in response as a soft sigh escaped them. "Do you want me to drive you?"
"No, that's okay… I can drive. I'll need to get gas on the way home, but that's fine… will you guys be okay here alone?" Taylor asked Maddy and Nolan. "We'll be fine, Ray. We always are."
"And I'm here, so they'll be fine." Jayden smiled at him, trying to reassure him. They didn't want to put that much stress on him.
Taylor nodded, sighing softly and running his fingers through his hair. "Um… I guess I'll see you guys later, then?" He stepped towards the door, grabbing his keys.
