Eric shuddered. "What could they possibly need it for? Are they trying to bring them back?"
Time After Time (One on One) {OPEN}
“That’s…that’s the whole thing. The reincarnation.” She explained, looking up at him with wide brown eyes. “We were right.”
"Oh shit-" He said, putting the bottle down. "But what do they want from us?"
“To reincarnate us and then kill us.” She said matter-of-factly. “But why?”
"Okay, let's figure out the first line. What could they have done?" He said, pulling the laptop from under the pillow.
“I don’t know. I don’t know anything about these people,” Lulu said in exasperation - not with Eric, but with the whole ordeal.
"Let's see… Klaus Fighter bio." He muttered as he typed.
“He didn’t really…do anything except make good music.” She said with a shrug.
"Yeah, but I'm looking for personal life stuff that might've gotten them to want to kill him." He said, chewing on his lip.
“Well what did we do?” She asked, throwing her hands up.
"I don't know!"
“I didn’t even know these people existed until a couple days ago. How could I possibly offend them?” She groaned, putting her head in her hands.
"Maybe they're just crazy?" He muttered halfheartedly.
“What’s even the purpose?” She mumbled from her position.
"They're crazy and hold a grudge against musicians?" He said shrugging. "…Wait."
“What?” She asked, looking up at him with black hair framing her face.
"What genres were all of them involved with?" He asked, typing wildly.
“Rock. Why?” She asked, leaning over his shoulder.
Eric grinned. "Because, rock has always been an outlet for rebellion, with some sub-genres being more prevalent in that than others." He said. "So, what could you want with a bunch of slightly desperate rock musicians, as a record label that's apparently hiding something darker?"
She connected the dots quickly. "A…a rebellion," She said, eyes widening.
"Or more precisely- some one trying to contain a rebellion." He said, nodding.
"Oh my god, you solved it," Lulu exclaimed, grinning and lunging to hug him.
Eric jumped in surprise. "Um… thanks?" He mumbled, awkward and blushing.
Lulu pulled away with a gigantic grin on her face, hurriedly taking tools out of the briefcase and spreading them around the bed, throwing it off once empty to pick up the folder. Kathleen's folder. "There must be something in here about that."
"Come to think of it, why didn't we look at that first?" He asked, sitting up better, still a little flustered.
"I don't know." She shrugged, stopping and looking up at him. "Did you…are you blushing?"
"No!" He said, obviously lying. "Why?"
She raised an eyebrow, her own face flushing just a small bit, not too noticeable against her caramel skin, but still there. "You're lying. But whatever. The folder."
"Right, right." He said, looking at the folder. "Let's see what these fuckers want."
Lulu opened the folder, revealing a giant stack of papers that spilled out. It was all in fine print, and there were a lot of retracted things and strange symbols. They looked almost like…alchemy symbols.
