“No problem, babe,” Ashley chuckled, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek. “I’m going to go work on my own stuff, now.”
Trouble in Paradise [Private RP — Closed]
“All right,” Lucas nodded
(Skip to the date? I’ve got something special planned out! :D)
(Sure!
not it
Also, I’m curious… Abd I have a feeling I know what it is…)
(Tell me in the PM~?)
Lucas felt extremely nervous. He’d thought long and hard about this date and he hoped it would be successful.
He checked his collar again, making sure it was okay before patting his suit.
“Ash? You ready?”
Ashley stepped out of the bedroom, adjusting one last piece of hair as she smiled at her boyfriend. “Yup! Now, are you going to tell me what the deal is with this date?” she asked, knowing that he wouldn’t.
“Definitely not,” Lucas shook his head. “You’re going to be stressed out a lot because of the chipmunk in your tummy, so I’m going to make you have a good time.”
He said that without looking at Ashley, but once he did, he felt like all breath was knocked out of his lungs.
She looked absolutely beautiful.
“You look beautiful, Ash…” he murmured, otherwise speechless. “I—I don’t know what to say.”
Ashley blushed a little and ran her hands down her flowy, red dress. She had gotten it a while ago but never had reason to wear it; it was just an impulse buy that she couldn’t pass up. The bust was tight and covered in lace that matched the color of the fabric underneath, and the straps wrapped around her neck to tie in the back. From the waist to her knees, the dress flowed loosely, just a smooth, red fabric in this portion.
“Oh… Well, thanks, babe you look amazing, too. I forget how nice you look in suits,” she said softly.
Lucas blushed, clearing his throat.
“You ready to go?” He asked, turning around to grab the keys. “We’re taking my car. Sorry, Jeep.”
(Sure!
Not it!)
I hate you…
Lucas was nervous the whole time. He’d actually reserved the entire restaurant for this special time, but he didn’t want Ashley to be suspicious.
When they walked inside, soft music was playing. Two or three tables were full of couples, and Lucas noticed one man looking nervous. He sighed in relief. When they took their seat, Lucas’s eyes caught some cameras.
The cameras were positioned towards the couple right next to their table, but Lucas knew exactly where their camera was directed at. He only hoped Ashley didn’t realize what he was planning.
“So, you wanna order something to eat?” He looked at her and offered her a grin. “Pasta? I’ve heard theirs is super good. There’s also shrimp pasta, if you’re interested.”
Ashley chuckled softly and picked up the menu in front of her. “Well, I’m not such a big fish fan, so I think I’ll look through the menu before making a decision.”
Lucas nodded, picking up the menu as well before skimming through it.
“Oh, I’ve heard their desserts are really good,” he murmured. “But we should save those for last, right?”
“Mmhm… Probably,” Ashley agreed in a murmur, ignoring how strangely he seemed to be acting. Whatever was going on, she was sure it would happen soon. “Maybe I’ll get the chicken Alfredo…”
Lucas nodded, swallowing. God, he was so nervous. Even his palms began to sweat!
“I guess I’ll have that chicken pasta,” he muttered to himself. “Anything else? What about dessert?”
“Sounds good… Are you okay, Lucas?” Ashley asked finally, setting down the menu to look at him.
Lucas nearly flinched before he cleared his throat.
“Huh? Yeah, of course,” he replied, looking away. “I’m just, uh, nervous, I guess? I’m trying to make sure you have a great night, so…”
He immediately shook his head before waving for the waiter.
“We’d like some chicken pasta and chicken Alfredo, please,” he said. “And as for drinks, I’d like a sprite and…” he turned to Ashley, raising an eyebrow.
“A strawberry lemonade, please,” Ashley ordered with a polite smile.
“And you heard the lady,” Lucas grinned. “As for dessert… we’d like two pieces of cake—strawberry and chocolate. And your special for the day.”
Brb gotta eat
(It’s 9pm… You’re eating at 9pm?)
Ashley glanced over at Lucas, curiousity buring in her gaze at his tone. “The special?”
(My uncle was late, so we waited for him.)
Lucas grinned at her.
“For you,” he winked, trying to come across as natural. “I won’t tell you what it is, though.”
The waiter took away our menu and told us he’d be back with the food in fifteen minutes. I wish the time flew by quickly.
(Ah, I see. Lol.)
“Oh… Okay, then,” Ashley hummed, curious. What was going on tonight?
When their food arrived, Lucas rubbed the back of his head. He was extremely nervous and was hardly able to sit still.
Finally, dessert time rolled by and after placing the cakes on the table, the waiter set a plate of fortune cookies in front of Ashley.
They were lightly decorated with sprinkles, but the one in the middle was the one that got most of the attention. It was half plain and half coated with chocolate, sprinkled with pink and white sprinkles and peanuts. Lucas swallowed thickly.
Ashley looked down at the plate in surprise, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. Glancing up at Lucas, she tilted her head curiously.
“What… What is this?” she asked quietly.
Lucas looked at her.
“Fortune cookies…?” He replied although it was more of a question than a statement. It was finally time. If she picked the plain ones, they would simply have compliments in them. But the one in the middle… that was the most important one.
Because it contained something Lucas had been thinking about for a long time.
“Okay…” Ashley murmured, picking one up from the side. The prettiest one she would save for last. She cracked open the one she’d picked out and popped a piece into her mouth as she read the paper, blushing immediately.
She was sure taking her time, Lucas groaned to himself. At this point, by the time she found the ring, he’d be a melted puddle.
Ashley finished reading the message in one cookie and moved onto the next. She blushed a little harder as she read what was inside, then ate a piece of that cookie. When she had finished all of the cookies from the sides, she finally picked up the middle one and cracked it open.
