Harper smiled and then went to the cupboards in search of the ingredients. The floor of course was up higher than she was, "Both…A lil help here?" Landon was sitting on the counter singing his ABC's to himself. Bear was in his bed, taking a quick nap. "What kind of cookies Lando?"
Cas nodded and reached up for the ingredients she wanted.
"Oatmeal and chocolate chip!"!Landon said with a huge grin
"Yep this kids yours, healthy with a side of sweet." Cas whispered to Harper with a grin
Harper smacks Cas's arm playfully, "I know." Harper puts her hair up and gets the cookie trays and bowls out. "Landon, no messes this time. Okay?" Landon mutters, "Okay, but no promises." She smiled, this could be one big family.
"this time?" Cas asked while getting the rest of the ingredients from the shelves "what happened last time?"
"He threw flour all over the place, got egg in his hair, and put butter in Bear's hair." Harper smiles, "Messy kid."
He smiled at "good start, next time though, I suggest Maple syrup on the cabinets. it may look clean but your hand will always stick to the handle." he winked and started measuring out the wet ingredients
"STOP GIVING MY NEPHEW IDEAS!" Harper shouts giving Landon the dry measuring cups and let him scoop out the dry, "Landon, don't listen to…Uncle? Cas."
"Uncle Cas?" Landon asks, "After cookies can we go play?"
He laughed and handed over the wet ingredients to be mixed with the dry. He sat on the counter with Landon "sure kiddo, what do you want to play?"
"Aunty Harper you want to play monopoly with us?" Landon asks while Harper was mixing the wet and dry together. Some got on her finger so she wiped in on Cas, "Payback for giving my nephew ideas." Harper sets balls of dough on the sheet and then sliding the trays into the oven, "Landon you know where it's at right?" Landon nods, "So you are playing?" Harper nods, and grabs Cas's hand, "Thanks."
"for being you're napkin or for giving you're nephew ideas to trash your kitchen? Either way, your welcome." He tugged her to him as Landon bounced off to find the game "we need to talk. When are you going to tell him?"
"Never…I just, shouldn't." She mumbles, into his chest, "So your his Uncle now?"
"yeah I guess I am." He muttered into her hair. "You'll regret it. Not telling him who you are to him. It'll tear you apart." He spoke the warning softly
"Maybe when he turns 18?" She whispers to him, scared of tell her son/ nephew the truth. "So where does that put us if your his uncle?" Harper smiles looking up at him.
He shook his head "that'll be way too late, for the both of you." He shrugged "I don't know, where domyou want it to put me?"
"I don't know about what to label us." She says, when Landon came running into the room, "Maybe 10 then. Now let's go play monopoly and I know I can beat you!"
He smiled "I don't carewhatbyou call us. As long as I'm with you, you can call this whatever you want. But seriously, the sooner you tell him, the better." He pulled away from her but kept their hands laced together "you think?i don't know, I'm pretty good at Monopoly."
"Imma put a label on us. Amazing Lovers." Harper laughs, noticing their hands laced together. She then goes to say, "I'll do it this week, with Sara there though….and you."
"I like that." He grinned and sat down at one of the sides of the boards "and your doing it with all of us there."
Harper kisses his cheek, "Did you get it all ready Lando?" She sits next to Cas, keeping their hands intertwined. "Also do you like Uncle Cas?"
"I got it all ready, by myself! Uncle Cas is the best Aunty Harper. Now can we play?" Landon says all at once.
"Yes Lando we can play now."
He smiled at the kid "thanks Landon." He wouldn't say that if he knew…
Cas nudged the little voice out of his head and focused on the game. "I've never played Monopoly before….how does this work exactly?"
"And you said you would beat me!" She laughs, "Ok so we all start on go, we roll the dice , yo move that number. You can't buy anything until you go past go once. then you can buy things." Landon rolls and moves his piece 6 spaces. He tells Cas, "Your turn…Aunty goes last because she always wins."
He nods and follows the instructions that he was told. Cas rolled the dice and landed on a 4. He moved his piece four spaces up and hands the dice over to Harper "do the pieces mean anything? Like the shape, do they add value or something?"
"No, just different shapes so it isn't confusing." Harper rolls a five, moving her piece five spaces. "Shi—shoot the cookies!" Harper gets up and runs to the oven, "THEY AREN'T BURNT! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
Cas laughed "that's good, hockey picks are no good to eat." He watched as Landon played his turn
Harper glanced at the clock, it marked 10:30, "Landon your mom is going to be here soon." She looks at Cas, "Tomorrow?"
He nodded "of course." He stood and headed to the kitchen to pack some of the cookies for Landon in a sandwich bag
Harper whispers, "I don't know how to tell him." She watches Landon pack up the game, she couldn't believe that he was her son. she didn't want to change his life…but she felt now that she was okay enough to take care of him.
"do you feel as if you're ready to take him back.into your life?" He asked "sit with him and Sarah, no matter what happens tell him the truth. He may not want to except or understand now. But he will, soon." He promised
