"I don't think that, I think you are an interesting creature, and much easier to learn about while you are alive" he said gently.

"Thanks .. I think? Humans words don't always work-" he said, a bit confused.

"hm, I like to learn about things, like the snake. which is alive"

"Hm…. okay" he said, eating another strawberry.

"What do you normally do? Besides sleep and eat of course?" He asked

"Wander." He said, shrugging. "I found a colony, but i cant work like they do. Too big."

"A colony of what?"

"Tiny ones. Like me. More legs. Don't glow." He said, motioning to himself.

"A moth?"

Ash shrugged, not knowing human names for most things. "Maybe? They call themselves weird buzzing noises"

Nikias pulled out his phone and looked up pictures of moths, showing it to Ash, "these?"

"Yeah" He said, fascinated by the phone. "How did you capture them in there?"

"Its uh, like a mirror or when you look into water. Its just a permanite reflection" he said after a moment.

"it's glowing" he said, staring at it with interest.

"yes, it gives off what is called blue light, which can be bad for your eyes" he mused.

He covered his eyes. "My eyes are important! Without them, I can't see the pretty lights!" He said, turning away from the phone.

"Its only bad for your eyes if you stare at it for a really long time" he chuckled.

"No hurting my eyes." He said, stubbornly. "My eyes are important."

"Yeah, I get it. " he turned the phone off and put it in his pocket.

He peeked out from his hands. "Okay. Can we go see the pretty lights again?"

"yeah, come on" He smiled slightly, leading the way down stairs.

Ash got up, flying a bit, landing on the top stair and walking down behind Nikias.

Nikias turned on the blacklight and the red light, leaving the door to the red room open. "here are your lights"

Ash smiled, putting different things under the blacklight to see if they would glow.

Nikias observed Ash, writing things down as he did.

"more things?" He asked, when he ran out of things to put under it. Then he tentatively set his stuffed bunny under the light, and it's eyes glowed. "Oooh-"

"hm…" Nikias opened a drawer and pulled out a notebook that was full of writing and different colored highlighting.

Ash snached his stuffie out of the light again, reaching for the notebook.

Nikias stepped back, going back to writing in his other notebook.

the notebook fell through Ash's arms, as he didnt have any hands to use to clutch it.
