Jay ran his fingers through his hair. "I uh…play the bassoon. There's not much you can do with that though…"

“I can try. Give me a few minutes?” Liia asked Nathan.

Nathan nudged Charlie excitedly. "Hey, there is someone else who plays the bassoon!" He said jokingly.
He nodded toward Liia, curious to see what the finished results of the song would be.

Charlie laughed and looked over to Jay. "Hey Jay-who-actually-plays-the-bassoon."

"See, I confused Nathan at first," Charlie explained, motioning towards her guitar case. "I told him that I had a bassoon hidden in my case. You could say that it's an inside joke."

Liia began scribbling on her notepad.

Charlie leaned over, watching Liia write down words on a piece of paper.

"To be fair," Nathan intervened, "Inside a guitar case could not only be a guitar. For all we know, Charlie could be hiding more chocolate from us!"

"I'm actually hiding a ton of eggo waffles. And animal crackers." Charlie laughed, looking over at Nathan.

“Okay, yall, this is not going to be good. And its going to be even worse if you keep interrupting me,” Liia smiled. “So either give me some of your secret stash of food or go away.”

"You heard her, Charlie, give Liia your eggos. And animal crackers," Nathan said, trying to peek inside of the guitar case.

"Leggo my eggos." Charlie laughed, sticking her tongue out at Nathan.

“Okay,” Liia finished, signing her name at the bottom of the page with a flourish. “I’m done. I’m warning you, it’s going to suck.” She handed the notepad to Nathan.

"Make eye contact after you have established un-awkward boundaries," She said.

"Oh. Got it. I'm ready for the next thing." Ezra responded.

Charlie leaned over, reading over Nathan's shoulder.

Nathan scanned his eyes over the page that Liia had written on. "Okay, first of all, your hand-writing is way neater than mine," he pointed out, laughing. He continued reading. "Liia, this is amazing! You have a skill in writing music."

"Yeah, it's great." Charlie breathed out as she read over the page one more time. After a few moments, she reached down and grabbed her guitar, beginning to tune it. "So, what kind of music and pace are you going for?"

“Um. I just had a general, idea, really. Like… this?” Liia sang the first few bars of the piece, not loudly, but just loud enough so that they could hear.

"Sounds great!" Nathan said. "Maybe, for the chorus, we could try this?" He took his drumsticks back out of his bag and tapped out a couple of measures, trying to figure out the right tempo for the song.

Charlie nodded as she began to strum the beginning on her guitar, checking the paper as she did to make sure that she had gotten the right parts. After a few minutes, she finally looked up at Liia. "Do you want to sing the song?"

Liia laughed. “No. No way. I cannot sing.”

"Yes you can. I just heard you and you're great." Charlie assured her, smiling encouragingly.

"Please?" Nathan begged. "I bet your voice is great!" He made puppy eyes, trying to persuade Liia into singing.

Charlie laughed at Nathan's begging. "I mean, Liia, how can you say no to that." She joked, motioning towards him.

"Position, how do you sit?" She asked.

“It’s quite easy when you think about the humiliation that would result from such an action,” Liia said, blushing slightly.

"Hey!" Nathan exclaimed. He shrugged anyways. "Whatever, it's pretty hard for me to be humiliated."

“Nah. You’re talented. Me, I sit behind a desk and do the numbers. I’m not an artsy singing type. And I cannot sing, anyways,” Liia said.

He thought. "Hands folded, legs relaxed. I'm guessing crossing my legs would not be a good idea."

"Are we pretending to be royalty here?? Since when do we fold our hands, just go with the flow," She smiled. "Be completely relaxed,"

"Hey!" Nathan exclaimed. He shrugged anyways. "Whatever, it's pretty hard for me to be humiliated."

"Really now?" Charlie asked, raising a brow as she looked at Nathan.

"Yes, really! I never do anything embarrassing," He lied, smiling. "Besides that, um, begging thing," Nathan remembered.
