Hunter felt extremely good the next day. He had woken up and had a chat with Kenzie, a small one but cute and fulfilling. He went to college to give his exam and it went fairly well. He didn’t expect it to, since he had trouble studying the day before, but considering the fact that he had been preparing way before that, he did great.
When his exam ended, all he wanted to do was see Kenzie. It confused him to find himself behaving weirdly around the girl. He had, had flings with other girls, but none of them made him feel the way he felt around Kenzie. He didn’t think it was exactly love, but he felt like it was close.
“What’cha thinkin’ about, man?” Leo, Hunter’s best friend, questioned, slapping Hunter’s shoulder.
Hunter shrugged.
“Stuff,” he replied casually. “You flunked your exam, didn’t you?”
Leo grinned, his chocolate eyes twinkling.
“I sure did!” he exclaimed. “So, which girl got you so worked up?” when Hunter gave him a confused look, he frowned. “Dude, I know you. So spill.”
Hunter sighed and realized he couldn’t get away from Leo. So he told Leo about Kenzie.
Needless to say, the crazy blond was excited to meet the woman who, Hunter quotes, ‘stole his best friend’s heart.’ Unfortunately for him, Hunter wanted to keep Kenzie away from him for a little while longer.
Hunter: I didn’t flunk my exam. That means I don’t get to demand something from you. But since I did fairly well, you gotta give me a treat ;)

After a long day of college classes, Kenzie walked down the campus trail for a break. She didn't have any classes for nearly two hours, and she liked to spend that time down by the lake, just thinking about life. Today, she had a very interesting train of thoughts, starting and ending with a certain Mr. Hunter McArthur and the butterflies that appeared in her stomach every time she thought about him.
Almost an hour before she had to go back to her classes, Willow caught up with her. She gave her a strange look, then smiled widely.
"What's on your mind, girl?" Willow questioned.
Kenzie looked back blankly. "What do you mean?"
"You've got that look in your eyes," Willow stated matter-of-factly. "The one that you get when you look at Chris Evans, but a lot more passionate."
"Willow!" Kenzie gasped, lightly punching her friend in the arm. "I do not!"
"Uh-huh," she rolled her eyes doubtfully. "Anyway, spill."
Kenzie gave her one final, exasperated sigh and "Fine." Then, even though she'd already told her a little bit about him before, she told her about Hunter, leaving out the parts that she deemed unnecessary information. Namely, the multiple times they'd already kissed.
Of course, Willow was intrigued, knowing that a guy had to be quite special to "crack her friend's shell," as she said. She definitely wanted to meet him now, if she hadn't already before. Kenzie wasn't quite willing to bring her friend to visit Hunter yet, though, as she could be a little… different.
Her phone buzzed with a text from Hunter as she was on her way back to class.
KENZIE: Great! I'm glad to hear it! About both. 😉
And what would that be, huh?
