Grace waved at Rachel. "Heyo. How's your family doing?"

“They’re alive” Rachel sighed. “I really worry about them, especially little Brandon. He almost didn’t make it inside last night. Scared me half to death. How are your families?”

"Aunt Katna's doing fine. Gerard, Jemma, and Felicia are the same crazy cousins they always are." Grace frowned a bit. "Mom's doing alright. I mean, as well as someone who can't walk and is going blind can be."

Rachel gave Grace a sympathetic smile. "I'm glad to hear they're all safe."

Camie drew a curtain of hair around her face. She felt her heart throb painfully inside her chest. The basket dug into her side, reminding her why she was even here. She stopped and picked out a couple fruits and a loaf of bread.
