Neo put the key in the ignition, backed out and started to drive. “So! Tell me about yourself.”

“No, but I’m not hungry,” Met brushed off. This was probably a lie, considering how skinny he was.
(She knows what other people are feeling and sometimes she can control their feelings, but only to make them feel better.)
Suri smiled. "Ummm… I was born in France."
Xara looked him up and down. "Uh-huh. Well, I'm gonna make some food, so you can, like, watch tv or read a book or something. I dunno what you're into."
Neo smiled back, actually, he positively beamed. “Really? I thought I detected French in your voice!”
Met sighed and looked around the room, but didn’t move. “You don’t have any books in here.”
Suri beamed back. "Yes, I lived there until I was five actually."
Xara sighed. Why, why, WHY?! "Check the cupboard under the green lamp." She said, cleaning a chicken.
Neo hummed and looked back out at the road. “Must’ve been incredible.”
Met gave her an annoyed look. The extra whys are much unneeded. He walked over to the cabinet, opened it and looked inside. There were a few books that captured his interest, so he grabbed them all.
Suri sighed. "It was. Especially when we visited the city. When my dad was with us, he used to take us all the time."
Xara rolled her eyes. "You like reading, then?"
Neo smiled. That sounds lovely. I always wished I could go to France.”
Met scowled to himself. No shit.
“Yes, I do.” He sat down on the ground, tucking his legs underneath of himself. It looked extremely uncomfortable.
Suri smiled, lost in thought.
Xara was pissed. Be a good host. SMile. Be happy. You are a happy person. Be HAAAAPPY!
Met felt her anger and reflected it back on her, wanting the worst he could possibly be towards her because of that resentment. He picked up a book and shoved his nose into it, starting to read.
Xara finished with the chicken and put it in the oven. She sighed, clearing herself of bad feelings. She walked into the living room. "Look, we got off to a bad start. I'm sorry for being an ass. I'm not sure if your brother told you, but I'm Xara."
Met rose his nose from the book, smelling truth wafting in the air. “That’s fine. I’m Met, if my twin had the decency to tell you my actual nickname. It’s a pleasure.”
Xara smiled finally, feeling waves of relief that she didn't have to hate him anymore. "Sorry, I kind of get in moods easily. I'm usually a very happy person, honestly." She almost laughed at herself.
Met hummed and shifted his legs slightly. The discomfort of his pose bothered his body, but not his mind.
“I suppose a happy mind is a crazy one.” He gave a slight grin. “Not that it’s a problem.”
Xara almost laughed. "Not the first time I've been called crazy, and it won't be the last."
Met hummed gently and returned to his book. “Something I will believe and see happen many times.”

Xara smiled and walked back into the kitchen to make potatoes.

Met curled up into a little ball, his head poking out so he could read. He stacked the other books and leaned the one he was reading on it.
(Oof had to sleep sorry XD)
Xara looked over at him and held back laughter. He looked like a turtle!

Met shifted his legs more comfortably under him and read happily. His discomfort was great, but he just ignored it.
Xara frowned. The potatoes were not behaving. She decided to make an apple pie.
M glanced up. “You should cut the potatoes in half, instead of trying to boil them whole.”
Xara stated thoughtfully at him for a few seconds before shrugging and saying, "not a bad idea."
Met hummed softly and flipped the page. “It’s how you boil them.”
Xara sighed and started cutting the potatoes. Then she changed her mind and started mashing them. After putting the potatoes in a pot, she got back to work on her pie.
Met hummed. “I’d pour out some water from that pot. Unless you want watery mashed potatoes.”
Xara almost laughed. "I just wanna make my pie!" But, she took his advice and poured out most of the water. She decided to add some of her usual spices while she was at it.
“Most pies don’t require watery potatoes,” Met said wisely, raising a finger to prove his point.
"I wasn't - I didn't - " she sighed, smiling, and started cutting apples.
