Met chuckled gently and curled back up into his chest, reading the book intently. He shifted his hips slightly, realizing that was the main recipient of his discomfort.
Xara finished the pie crust and poured the filling in quickly before Met could offer help again, and popped the pie in the oven, taking the chicken out as well.
Met glanced up. “You should turn the heat up a bit. The chicken doesn’t require as much heat as pie does because it’s a dessert.”

Sighing, Xara replied, "thanks for the suggestion." She turned the heat up, trying to be subtle about taking advice.
Met grinned a little as he went back to his book, still nestled into his blankets. “You’re welcome. Now we won’t have dry chicken.”
Unsure of what to do now, Xara went into the living room and sat down in her chair.
Met glanced up when she passed him, raising his eyebrows again and going back to his book. He didn’t ant her to come in and start staring at him. Or worse: talking to him.
Xara pulled out her phone, feeling uncomfortable. She thought of texting Suri, but she always got annoyed when people texted her during movies, so she decided against it and just went on Pinterest instead.
You should really try a book, Met remarked to himself, glaring up at her briefly before getting sucked back up. They”re much more interesting.
Xara thought she heard something and looked up quickly. Seeing Met absorbed in his book, she decided to go grab one from her room.
