Marine Rescue (Closed)

Darren's eyes were wide with joy, "Amazing!" He said under his breath as the dolphin swam around, "What happened with the tail?"

Tara frowned as she sat down, putting her feet in the water. "Emerald got into a fight with a shark." She said softly.

He tilted his head to look at the dolphin, "You should see the other guy," He seemed to be talking to the dolphin.

Emerald swam up to Tara and Darren, resting his (snout?) on Tara's knee, as if comforting her. Tara smiled. "You're right Em, I shouldn't be sad right now." She said.

Darren's amazement only increased, "Can I, ummm," He looked at his hand like he was shy to ask.

Tara laughed. "If you want to pet him, he loves it." She jerked her head, motioning for him to sit down beside her.

He smiled and sat down next to her, putting his hand toward the creature slowly, almost nervously.

Emerald and Tara exchanged a look, then Emerald moved over, resting on Darren's lap like he had on Tara's. Tara laughed. "He likes you."

Darren laughed as he stroked the animal as softly as he could, "Apparently,"

Tara sighed contentedly, leaning back on her hands.

"So how often do you guys get these rescues?"

"More than you would think." Tara answered. "More than I would like."

Darren nodded almost sorrowfully, "There's a trauma center right? Where they take care of them when they first come in."

"Yeah. I spend a lot of time there." Tara told Darren.

"Mind if we go check it out? I actually think that's where they might put me when they figure out my schedule."

Tara nodded, standing up. "Let's just try to avoid…." She trailed off, muttering the name under her breath.
(cAMIE MEET US AT THE TRAUMA CENTER PLS THIS IS GETTING SLIGHTLY AWKWARD WITH JUST THE TWO OF US)

"Someone you don't like?" Darren laughed as he stood to follow her.

Tara gave an awkward and slightly bitter laugh as she led Darren down another hall. "You could say that."

He laughed, "I'm a little afraid to ask,"

"You……..probably don't want to know either." Tara answered.

Abby came out of the bathroom, having changed into her uniform, and sat behind the counter at the main desk. She logged onto the computer and saw Tara walking with some other guy. "Tara!" Abby called out and waved.
