Middle School Romance [OPEN!!!!]

"Nothing, what about you?" She replied.

Jil laughed at Toby's remarks and nodded, then turned to Raven. "Well, Mrs. C gave me a new book to read. It's really good, she said it was one of her favorites." she turned to Toby. "Toby, this is my friend Raven. Raven, this is Toby." she said.

She waved at Toby while smiling a little,"Nice to meet you, Toby."

Toby waved back to her, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "Nice to meet you too."

She looked at Jil, "What book is it?"

Jil opened her backpack, dumping piles of books onto the table. "Well," she said. "I can't remember the title. it's really good though. Let me see…" she paused, and pulled the last book out of her bag. " It's called 'Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch'. It's good so far, I haven't gotten that far into it though." she finished, shoving the books back into her bag.

"What's it about?" Toby asked, intrigued by all the books that were in her bag.

"Can I borrow it after you?" She asked.

"It's about a demon and an angel trying to postpone the end of the world by keeping the antichrist from having to choose between good and evil." Jil told Toby. "I'll have to ask Mrs. C if it's alright that I let you borrow it, but I'm sure she''ll let you." Jil told Raven.

"That sounds so cool," she said.

"That's amazing." Toby smiled as the bell rang to mark the end of lunch. Time for science. "Would you like me to walk you to class, m'lady?" He asked Jil in a terrible British accent. Only now did he realize that he had never shown many people his weird side.

Jil blushed, and stood up to walk to class. "That would be nice, thank you. Bye Raven!" she said. "I'll see you in English."

"Bye Jil!" She said and walked to her class.

Toby walked alongside Jil towards their class, his fingers still playing with the bracelet on his wrist. God, why does she make me so nervous. . . His friend, Elijah, approached them with a smirk and probably with a stupid comment, but he brushed him off and continued to walk.

"Sooo.." Jil said, trying to eliminate the awkward silence. Lots of people stared at them as they walked to their class. "What do you like to do for fun?" she asked Toby.

(Guys Im seriously Breatrix Literally has no friends and its not healthly for her.)

"Well, I like to sing. . . but not many people know about that." Toby explained, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. A lot of people he told didn't think that singing was for boys.

"Really? You like to sing?" Jil said. "That's awesome!"

"Alto or soprano?" Jil asked Toby.

"Really? You like to sing?" Jil said. "That's awesome!"

Toby's eyes lit up at that. "Well, I can do both. I usually sing with my guitar." He explained and smiled as they walked into their class. "I can sing for you some time."
