"Well, on the bright side they'll probably kill us instead of vampire-ize us." Rosanna said.
Murder mystery in 1580 Venice.... a one on one (CLOSED)
"True," Angelo answered as he began to walk down the corridors, glancing over his shoulder to check if Rosanna was still following. "Just check for clues. We need to make it out."
"Yeah, okay. Yes, yes, living to investigate another day. Good." she said.
"I would love to live for another day," Angelo answered, glancing over at Rosanna and trying for a reassuring smile. He continued down the halls, the only noise the sound of their shoes against the stone floors.
"Okay, stop! I remember seeing that creepy symbol by the trapdoor, let's head up!" Rosanna said, pointing at a symbol and a very obvious ladder. (And cue the "Dammit we got into Signora Francesca's office instead of back in the courtyard" moment.)
(Mk.)
"Ladies first?" Angelo answered, shifting in his spot nervously as he motioned towards the ladder. Usually, he would have gone, but with what they had seen so far, he didn't want to get caught by anyone at this school.
"Sure." she said, climbing up…. into a marble office. "Da flip?"
"What's happening, Rosie?" Angelo answered, his voice a little louder than he intended. He climbed up after her, noticing the dimly lit marble room. "It-it's Signora's…office."
"Well, we were trying to get in here in the first place." she reasoned.
"True. Quick, look around for things and I'll stand by the door." Angelo answered quickly as he moved towards the exit of the headmistress's office, peeking his head outside to check the halls. So far, they were empty.
"Good evening, children." a voice said. A tall, dark haired woman in a mauve dress was sitting in a chair in the corner.
"Rosanna…is that you," Angelo said quietly as he spun around, his gaze focusing on the woman in the corner. She was quite beautiful, but her gaze looked harsh and calculating. He took a step back and placed a hand on his satchel as he glanced over at his sister with a worried look.
"Now, why would you two be sneaking around when you are supposed to be sleeping?" the woman asked/
"We-we're-" Angelo stammered as he glanced over at Rossana for help. At this point, he had no idea what to say to the headmistress.
"We are…. exploring this…. fine… establishment… of yours?" Rosanna squeaked.
"Yes, we were just exploring, Senora. The whole establishment is absolutely impeccable, honestly," Angelo began as he motioned towards the room, a bright, innocent smile lighting his features up. He glanced at Rosanna for a short moment, nodding to let her know that they would be alright…hopefully. "We were looking at the chemistry lab earlier, and we can not wait to start classes."
"Your lies flatter me." the Signora chuckled. "But nevertheless…"
"We were just exploring. My sister and I are sorry that we stayed out past curfew, Signora," Angelo said hesitantly, as he looked up towards the dark-haired women hopefully.
"And why were you in my office? How are you in my office? The doors and windows are locked, and the fire's lit. But you can't have…. just out! Get out, before I change my mind!" she shouted.
Angelo winced at the sound of the woman's yelling and grabbed Rosanna's hand to pull her out of the room. He continued to lead her down the hall, only stopping once they were a good distance away from Signora's office. "God, she could have killed us. We can't explore this place without a plan." Angelo whispered hurriedly, finally speaking up as he looked over his shoulder.
"Agreed. But I managed to nick this." she said, holding up a bottle of expensive wine. "Cool, huh"
"Very nice," Angelo answered as he nudged Rosanna playfully, a small smile lighting his features up. They had always been somewhat of opposites; one of them being more serious and thoughtful, and the other more of a daredevil. Though, Angelo usually found himself appreciating Rosanna's skills more than once.
Rosanna opened the bottle and drank some. "Not half bad, actually." she said.
"Let me try," Angelo answered as he gently took the bottle from her hands and took a sip. It wasn't as good as other bottles they had taken before, but it was quite good. Even though they were a little young to drink, Rosanna and Angelo had always seemed to find some time to get a bottle of wine on a mission.
"So, what's the plan then master planner? I haven't got any ideas for how we're going to go about breaking and entering but I know you do, good sir." she said.
"I'll have to see," Angelo sighed as he glanced around the halls, pausing to listen for any footsteps. "I think we need to head back to our dorms. It's almost morning and we have class tomorrow," He added after a few moments as he turned back towards Rosanna.
"Yeah, sure. G'night, Angelo." she said.
"Good night, Rosie," Angelo answered, pulling Rosanna into a tight hug before he turned around and began down the halls, intent on not getting caught again.
Rosanna walked back to her dormitory. She lay down, looking out the window by her bed, staring at the moon. Hopefully all of this would end well.
Angelo walked into his dorm room quickly, closing the door behind him slowly. After slipping his boots off and placing them next to his bedpost methodically, he climbed into his bed and tried to close his eyes. Though, his heart still seemed to be beating as fast as when they had run into Senora.
