Murder mystery in 1580 Venice.... a one on one (CLOSED)

Isabella just stared at Rosanna. "No, nothing." she replied.

Angelo glanced at his sister, knowing that Isabella probably didn't have any more information to provide. He shook his head faintly, nodding towards the courtyard exit in order to tell Rosanna that they were done here.

"What did they do to me? You saw it all, didn't you?" Isabella asked.

"We did see part of it before we needed to leave," Angelo answered, fidgeting nervously with the leather strap of his satchel as he bit his bottom lip in thought. "Are you sure that you'd like to hear it?" He added on, glancing up at Rosanna for a quick second.

"Yes, I'm sure." Isabella said.

"Rosanna?" Angelo said expectantly, hoping that his sister would know what to say. After all, she had been the one who had seen the room.

"They had mentioned something, something about "Top Class"." Rosanna said. "And experiments."

"Top Class," Angelo repeated, nodding as he looked towards Isabella, studying her for a few moments. "Do you…happen to be in one of the top classes at this academy?" He asked curiously, tugging on his faded cap as he waited for an answer.

"Yes, I am. I only got here a week ago but apparently I'm the best in my year…. funny how things like that happen." Isabella said.

Angelo glanced over at Rosanna, shooting her a look to ask any more questions now. By now, Isabella had just given him enough information. If they had mentioned Isabella's class, it must mean that the top students have something to do with the experiments. Maybe if they checked if anyone else was missing, they could possibly trace anything for repetitions.

"Oh, well, we need to go." Rosanna said, getting up to leave. "Wait! I know you're investigating, let me help!" Isabella cried.

Angelo paused mid-stride, thinking over Isabella's words. She would definitely help, already being a victim of one of the attacks, but what if she didn't stay quiet about what they were investigating? There were too many risks, but also too many benefits. What was something that their father used to say? Take a risk. Don't play it safe. You don't want to die wondering.

"Um…. Angelo, what do you think?"

"We'll come to you for help, Isabella. You could definitely assist us in the investigation," Angelo stated as he glanced at Rosanna reassuringly, a faint smile quriking the corners of his lips up as he looked back towards Isabella.

"Thank you." Isabella said.

"Of course," Angelo nodded, smiling faintly as he motioned for Rosanna to follow him as he began to step out of the courtyard on the gravel path. Isabella seemed quite nice, and since she was in the top class, her intelligence would prove worthy as well.

Rosanna followed and Isabella did the same.

"Where should we go, Rosie?" Angelo asked, glancing over at his sister as he began to walk down the arched and intricately carved halls of the academy.

"Library. We need to study up."
