"Sounds good to me. I wonder if dogs could write? Probably not… they don't have opposable thumbs." Akira started muttering to herself about random things.
Ruby looked at Akira strangely and got some salami and put some in a plate while putting some in a sandwich. She then put the bowl of salami in front of Akira.
(Akira's just voicing what all dogs are thinking. She is an insight into the canine world)
"Thanks." Akira ate the salami swiftly, licking her lips when she was done and watching Ruby.
“Your welcome.”
"So what are you thinking about the whole adventure thing? Do you want to go?"
Ruby sighed, “I don’t know… it’s just so… so… tempting.”
"Well, if you want to go, that's fine with me. I'll go with you. I may end up being helpful somehow, since I can still speak to dogs as well. Though I doubt I'd be able to just not talk for long. It's bound to come up eventually if we're travelling with these people."
“Well too bad we can’t have telepathic link or something.”
"Yeah… I mean, maybe it's possible. There's magic people around here, but I'm not sure whether that's a type of magic."

“It is, one of my friends have it. It’s a little annoying.”
"Hmm, so maybe not then? I feel like you'd get bored of hearing my thoughts all the time. You know, boring dog things. And contemplating the meaning of life… but we don't talk about that."
“… I’m slightly scared what goes through that brain of yours.”
"Strange things, Ruby. Strange things." Akira shook her head. "Most dogs just think about food and sleep, quite boring. But when you understand human speech, there's a whole world of new things to think about. Like what alcohol would do to a dog's system."
“It’s toxic for dogs.” Ruby said, wrinkling her nose. Blankly packing her essentials into a backpack.
"Hmm. Lots of things are poisonous to dogs. Like, I've always wanted to try chocolate since humans seem to like it so much, but I can't because apparently I could die or something."
“… that’s true.”
(Fun fact: My grandma's dog ate an entire tray of brownies and he was fine. I still wouldn't risk it tho)
"And avocados.. like, what could possibly be bad for dogs in avocados?"

“It’s not bad for dogs, it’s just a rumor.”
"Hmm. I doubt I'd like it anyways. What would happen if dogs had opposable thumbs?"
“… well. I have no idea.” Ruby admitted.
"They could write, and hold things with something other than their mouths! That'd be cool. See? Aren't you glad you found an interesting dog?"
Ruby chuckled, “Not too humble though.”
"I am sometimes. But all the time would be boring, wouldn't it? Like, 'Oh yes master! I would love to do anything for you master!'. I like to think of us as… equals I suppose. Considering I have at least close to human intelligence, that should put us near the same level, shouldn't it?"
Ruby laughed, “Of course.”
"It makes me sick how some dogs just fawn over people. Nothing against people of course, I just think that dogs deserve respect as well, and they aren't pleading a very convincing case for themselves."
