“Well uh, do you want food? You could come over to my house.”
"Sure, I don't see why not." Akira stood up and yawned, looking up at Ruby from the ground.
“Do you want to bring anything along?” Ruby asked.
"I don't own anything but myself, and I don't know whether I truly own that either. In the long run, my fate is already decided. I can just do different things in the meantime, hmm?"

“Well okay then… do you want me to carry you or do you wanna walk their yourself?”
"I can walk." Akira trotted along beside Ruby, taking in the surroundings as they went. She didn't come to this part of town very often; it was too crowded and the food was lacking.
After walking for about 10 minutes, they arrived.
Ruby opened the door and held the door for Akira, “Wow I just realized how big and empty my house is.” She muttered.
"Empty is good. Quiet." Akira looked around. It was a fairly nice house, at least in her eyes. But then again, she lived on the streets. Most houses would look nice.
“What do you want to eat?” Ruby asked, taking off her cloak.
"What do you have? I'm not picky."

“Well give me a general idea, I’d tell you to look through the pantry but you’re a little too… small.”

“Um, raw or cooked?”
"Depends what kind of meat. I've heard raw chicken is bad for humans, but I don't know whether the same rules apply to dogs."
“For humans you can get salmonella… for dogs… you can get salmonellosis. How about salami?”

"That's fine." Akira yawned again and lay down on the floor.
“Okay then…” Ruby said, going to the refrigerator.

Akira lay her head on her paws, waiting patiently.
“Here-“ Ruby said, putting a plate of salami in front of Akira. “-if you want more, tell me.”

Akira fell asleep while Ruby was making food for herself, the plate still in front of her. Though hardwood floor wasn't much more comfortable than pavement, it was almost certainly cleaner.
Ruby silently ended her day and went to bed.

The next morning, Akira woke up confused. Why was she in a house? And why did she smell like salami? It took her a moment to remember the previous night's events. She stood up and wandered around the house, looking for Ruby.
