Lilli had fell asleep whimpering in her sleep from pain
Emerson gently reached over, rubbing her back, but unsure how to help.
He frowned slightly. "Lilli? Lilli, sweetheart, it's okay." He said softly, rubbing her back still.
He sighed softly. "It's okay." He murmured.
Lilli slowly opend her eyes the tears still coming.
He bent, still rubbing her back. "What's wrong, love?" He asked softly, not even seeming to register what he had called her.
She leaned her head on his chest "Just a nightmare" she said.
He nodded. "Alright." He replied, still rubbing her back gently.
"Trevor thinks I'm his mate . . . am I? she asked looking up at Emerson
Emerson shook his head. "No." He replied softly, cupping her cheek in one hand. "Not his."
"I am." He replied, voice soft and slow. "I am." He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.
"What?" He asked softly, biting his lip.
"I'm just a human and your on your way to becoming Alpha" she said.
"Yeah… so?" He replied, looking down at her.
"I'm just after all these years and You like me back?" she asked.
He blinked. "I…what do you mean?" He asked, looking down at her with a soft sigh.
He blinked. "Oh. I uh…didn't know that."
Lilli gulped and tried to move away out of embarrasment.
He sighed softly. "I'm sorry."
"Not telling you that you were my mate. I…was worried you wouldn't respond well." He replied.
She sat on her knees on the bed. She cupped both his cheeks "That's completely fine You were scared" she said.
He nodded slowly. "Alright." He replied, leaning into her hands a little.
She smiled gently and stroked his cheek with her thumb.
He leaned forward, kissing her forehead lightly.
