She looked away, still a bit upset. Ace knew she was pretty, but only because many people have told her. The men clicked his tongue and walked away, he didn't want the authorities to get involved. Te snow hadn't stopped fall since the left the train and Ace was getting a bit wet. Although Ray's hand was warm there was something she didn't like, maybe because he was holding her back or maybe the fact that the only thing she wanted to do was fight? "He ruined our fun, so let's just go."
Private PM with Illy-Wan Kenobi!
Ray watched the man leave angrily, allowing his gaze to burn into the man’s back until he disappeared.
“Yeah, let’s go.” He turned towards her. “There should be a cafe or something we can go to.” He loosened his grip on her hand, ready to pull it away.
Ace let her hand fall to her side when Ray loosened his grip. Somehow it felt right, but wrong at the same time to hold Ray's hand. "Hot chocolate sounds good. I'll follow your lead." She put her mask but on so people would see most of her face.
Ray put his hands in his pockets. “There’s probably one up the way.” He nodded up a snow-strewn path. He started walking, yet he stayed next to her rather than in front as he usually does.
"I'm glad the air here is nice." The cities that had bad air were always the worst, so many sick people would wander around, Ace always thought that it was gross. Ace walked at a faster pace to keep up with Ray, he was taller so he took longer strides.
“Yeah, it’s the countryside Segrement.” Ray smiled at her warmly. “Anyway, there’s one.” He pointed to a cafe. “Let’s scoot.”
Ace opened the door to the cafe and immediately warm air hit her face. "It feels nice in here." Removing her mask she walked up to the counter and ordered herself a hot chocolate. "What are you getting?"
Ray tailed her and ordered a capachino with a blueberry muffin. Ray looked at her, grinning.
“I just ordered, yeah? Let’s get a seat.”
"Okay." Ace skipped to an open seat ignoring the stares, she hated when people looked at her, that's why she wore her mask most of the time. "So what are we looking for again?" The table next to the window is what she picked, she's always been more of an outdoors person.
Ray sat down across from her with a heavy sigh. “We’re going to the markets to get fruit, remember? Your mom wanted us to bring her some.”
"Ah, right." She rested her chin in her hand. A piece of her hair had fallen in her face, but she didn't bother with it. "Ray, do you think there is anywhere in the worl that isn't destroyed?" She wanted to leave this place with her mother, step dad and Ray.
Ray reached over and tucked the hair back on her ear. “I heard people are starting to populate Mars.” He tilted his head. “I wonder how that’s goingfor them.”
Ace crinkled her nose dissatisfied. "I don't want to move to mars." Even though she was trying to hide it, her face was a bit red at Ray's sudden touch. "I guess I'll just have to live with what's going on down here." A girl came with their drinks and Ace didn't bother to look at her or say thank you. People were not her thing, in fact she didn't like them much.
Whenever the server came over Ray looked up, smiled and said thank you. The server simpered under his handsome gaze.
“You’re very welcome, sir!” She chirped the response, batting her eyelashes.
At the corner of her eye Ace saw the way she was looking at Ray, and was a bit displeased. "Um, don't you have a job to do?" Her voice was cold and her gaze was as well. Ray was one of the people closest to her and someone she cared for deeply, Ace was not about to let some dumb blonde with big, well you know take him away from her.
(You’re looking for displeased.)
The server gave Ace a look, as if to tell her that if their lips aren’t locked together then ahe (the waitress) has a chance.
She looked back at the slightly-confused but still smiling Ray.
“What brings you here, hot-stuff?”
Ray blinked but his grin didn't fade. “I was hungry!”
She laughed.
(Thanks! For the life of me I couldn't figure out the word I was thinking of.)
Ace slammed her hands on the table and moved closer to the waitress. "Go do your damn job." She said with clenched teeth, then Ace had an idea. "Fine, be that way." She snapped her head towards Ray and leaned close to him. "Sorry about this." She whispered before kissing him. It only lasted a few seconds before she turned back to the waitress and licked her lips. "Could you plase stop hitting on my boyfriend and go do your job." A mischievous grin was on Ace's face.
Ray’s face exploded with red as Ace kissed him.
The server scowled and trotted off, leaving the pair to eat.
Ace went back to her stone face and sat back looking out the window. She didn't notice Ray's face was red since she was to anger to think about anything else. "Sorry about that, she was just getting on my nerves." It felt weird kissing him and wasn't sure what to feel, she honestly didn't know how she really felt about him. "Seriously I'm really sorry, it was rude of me to do that."
“No-no that’s okay.” Ray smiled a little. “Don’t feel bad, I understand you were doing that just to get her away.” He sighed a little sigh, wishing that wasn’t the case.
"You shouldn't let girls hit on you like that. Be more.. cold, or something." That's what she does at least, but it always works for her, although she would like to fall in love one day. "They could bewitching you or something." Ace threw her arms in the air.
Ray laughed gently. "So you're suggesting I should be colder towards you?" He tilted his head, biting his tongue. What he just said was really risky.
Ace threw him a look. "I'm not hitting on you, and you better never be cold to me." She narrowed her eyes a bit more. "Ever," She would die if Ray started to be cold to her. "I would be sad, do you want to make me sad?"
Ray chuckled, ignoring her evers. "I think you were hitting on me, dear. You just kissed me? And called me your boyfriend?"
Ace sighed and rolled her eyes. "That was for a good reason, to rid of her an annoyance." She was confused as to what he meant by her flirting with him. Ace was a very oblivious to people's feelings.
Ray rolled his eyes and took a sip of his drink. "Never mind. Let's just eat, yeah?" He looked down at his muffin with a faint sigh.
Ace took a drink of her hot chocolate, she didn't get anything to eat because she wasn't hungry. "Sorry, did I say something to upset you?" She looked Ray dead in the eye.
Ray looked up from his muffin, crumbs falling from his mouth. "Mmmm? Mm mm." He shook his head.
"I don't speak muffin, sorry." She laughed and wiped a few crumbs from his mouth. "Ah, sorry again." Ace realized she was to touchy with Ray and should probably stop. She went back to looking out the window.
Ray laughed gently. "That's okay. I don't mind, I promise. What did you ask?" He tilted his head, trying to catch her attention again.
