"Wait," Ace stopped and turned around to look at Ray, even though she couldn't see him well. "Why would they want to capture me? I'm not special." When she was done talking she continued going down. "How far down does this go?" She mumbled to herself.
Private PM with Illy-Wan Kenobi!
Ray sighed. “You’re an attractive young woman. Why wouldn’t they want to capture you?” Ray sounded exasperated and somewhat disgusted, not with her, but with how animalish men have been acting.
"Yeah, I guess so." Ace slowed down so Ray could catch up. "I wouldn't let them kill you though. I would RIP all their heads off if someone even tried." After a few more steps her feet hit solid ground. "Now we need lights."
Ray sighed gently in relief. Now he could think straight. “We should find a pole of some sort. These old basements always have switches for lights on them.” He felt uncomfortable standing there in a dark basement, but he knew they weren’t being watched.
Ace began to feel around for anything that felt like it could be a switch. "Do we not have a flashlight or anything?" All the sudden her body began to fall to the ground when she tripped over something. "Ow, what the hell did I trip over?"
(Sorry it's really bad.)
Ray scooped her up a few moments before she hit the ground, straightening her up.
“I have no idea.” He kneeled and felt around for it.
“It feels like…” He felt a button and pressed it. A streak of light made him start.
“It’s a flashlight!”
"Wow, that's interesting." And right after I asked about one. pain shot through her knee, but she ignored it and didn't tell Ray. "Well at least we have a bit of light now." She stayed close to Ray since he had the light.
Ray shone the light around. “It kinda is convinent.” The light made Ray feel safer and more confident in this darker area. Not to mention Ace standing right next to him as they walked.
Ace tried her best to hid the limp she had from the pain in her knee. "Seriously, I'm beginning to think there are no lights down here. And don't you think it's weird we found an already on flashlight?" It was a bit sketchy and Ace had a bad feeling.
Ray grabbed her hand. “We should just go back upstairs and try to find an inn outside. Sound good, yeah?” He felt her discomfort and tried not to mirror it.
"Nah, we're down here already. Let's just find the lights." Ace didn't want to go out and try to find another place to stay. If she had to she would just find a comfortable place upstairs to sleep. Running her hand along the wall she felt something the could be a light switch. "I think I found it."
Ray shined the flashlight to her hand. It was indeed a pannel for the many lights.
“Well, turn it on, then.” He smiled a bit, relieved that they finally found a light.
Ace wasn't sure which switch was which, so she just flipped all of them. When the lights came on she had to cover her eyes a bit, they were used to the dark so it was extremely bright when they came on. "Finally." When her eyes adjusted she was expecting to see a bunch of boxes. They lined the walls and were stacked to the ceiling.
Ray covered his own eyes, giving a slight yelp as the light harassed them. He moved his arm slowly and looked around at all of the boxes.
“Huh. That was anticlimactic. What do you think is in them?”
"There's only one way to find out." She looked at Ray with a smile. She was extremely curious as to what could be in them. Walking over to one of the boxes she carefully and slowly opened one. "How boring," She frowned and stood back up. "It's only a bunch of paper work."
Ray walked over to another and opened it to reveal paperwork. He put down the flashlight slowly, then smacked the box off of its perch, sending papers flying eveywhere. He laughed and kicked them around.
Ace raised an eyebrow at Ray. Watching him kick around paper made him look just a bit crazy. "What are you doing?" Ace asked as she sat on one of the boxes. She just watched him, he looked like he was having fun and it made her happy, but he still looked a bit crazy.
Ray pushed over another box. “I haven’t seen paper in years!” He sounded wild with happiness and mirth. He tossed around papers like an ape, laughing loudly.
"Okay." Ace stood and walked over to him and stopped him from throwing paper. "You look like a crazy person. Let's just continue to look around." She stared to walk down the hallway and look inside rooms.
Ray grabbed Ace and pulled her closer, gesturing out to the ridden floor.
“Don’t you know what this means? We’ll be rich!” He let go of her and opened another box. Papers!
Ace's face grew a bit red when Ray pulled her close suddenly. "Yeah, but you know authorities are just going to take it for themselves once they find out there is paper down here." She pushed the weird feeling down and continued, "if they haven't found it already and is just keeping it to themselves." She picked them up and read threw them. "And most of them already have words on it."
Ray scrambled around to push down more boxes. They landed with spectacular crashings and smashings.
“So? It’s still hell a ton of fun to push the boxes around!”
Ace shrugged and stood. It looked fun and she wanted to try as well. She followed Ray's lead and started pushing boxes down. An idea came to Ace's mind and she crumbled up a piece of paper in her hand, it would almost be like a snowball fight but with paper. She waited for the right moment then threw the paper ball at Ray's head.
Ray paused the moment the ball of paper tocked off his head. He looked over.
“Is that a challenge?” He had beaten her upon numerous occasions in snowball fights.
"Maybe." Ace smiled and threw another piece at home then ran down the hallway. She was not about to lose this one. Thank goodness there was paper in all the rooms.
Ray grabbed up multiple pieces of paper and crumpled them up. They felt good in his hands as he chased after her, laughing happily. He threw one at her, it bounced weakly off of her back.
Ace had slipped multiple times because of the paper on the ground, but kept running anyway. She turned a corner and realized the lights were dimmer in this part of the building. "Um, spooky much?" Although Ray would tell her not to go any further she did anyway.
Ray turned the corner not soon after and paused. “Ace! Aceeee! Come on, it’s too dark in here!” He walked a little into the darker area, his eyes straining to see her. He was very bad at seeing things in the dark.
Ace was to far away at this point to hear Ray's voice. She was bumping into quite a few things since she didn't have the flashlight, Ray had it. Losing her balance as she tripped over something she went to use the wall for support, but her hand slipped threw and she fell. "What the?" Moving her hands around she felt the 'wall' but instead of a full on wall it was iron bars.
Ray felt himself for the flashlight and flicked it on, swinging it around, in hopes to get Ace’s attention.
“AAAAAAAAACEEEEEE!” He called as loudly as he could.
