Lillian stuck her tongue quickly at Darren before turning her attention to the doctor.

Cooper lives and missed Belle so much it hurt but he found the only way he could make it better was to be with Fleur. He always felt like he was a bother or that she was mad at him and he couldn’t handle that.

Fleur cupped his face with her hand, her fingers skimming over his cheek.

Cooper smiled a little and looked at her. “You don’t have to stay if you don’t want to. But I really wish you would,”

"If you want me to, then I will," she replied softly.

“I just wanted you to know that you don’t have to stay with me,”

The doctor smiled, "What brings you in today Darren?"
Darren sighed and shrugged.
"I'm joking. Let's see what we have going on in that brain of yours, huh?"

“I just wanted you to know that you don’t have to stay with me,”

“And I want you to know that I will.”

Lillian kept silent and simply stayed by Darren’s side.

He stopped and just looked at her, the shadow of a smile on his lips.

"Do you want to keep her in the room for this?" The doctor looked over to Lillian and so did Darren, "Yeah, she stays…" Darren demanded quietly.

“What?” she asked. Her eyes looked over his expression.

"I guess I was just getting used to people hating me and, or leaving,"

"Well then. I'll draw blood and then we'll MRI that brain of yours,"
Darren cringed, he hated MRI's.

Looks like there were going to be needles, and MRIs. Not fun stuff. Lillian had a reassuring smile, everything was going to be fine.

He took a deep breath, feeling suddenly squirmy when he saw the doctor pull out a needle.

Lillian gently took his hand and rubbed her thumb along the top of it. She knew this wasn't going to be pleasant.

The nurse came back in because she had the most experience with Darren seeing as how she did his chemo. Darren shivered and squeezed Lillian's hand as she took the needle and approached him.

Lillian squeezed back. He could do this, also that nurse has either the best job or the worst job ever.

True. The nurse rubbed Darren's arm, "Just don't look, okay honey?" She then wiped it with cleany stuff and put it in a vein without warning him. He tried to relax, knowing that staying tense would make the blood giving process worse.

Lillian kept rubbing his hand. She was trying to figure out a way of distracting him, that wasn't too embarrassing to her.

"My question is how your hair grew back twice with chemo," The nurse smiled, "That's unusual and resilient curls you have there."

"Magic," Lillian responded for him. She used her free hand and made sparkly motions.
