Ryan had told the other two to go without him as he sat back down next to Belle, "Are you okay?"

She didn't answer. She simply couldn't. She let the numbness settle over her.

"Okay," he sighed and took her hand. "Do you think you'll ever see him?"

His touch was an anchor to reality. She still didn't answer but she squeezed his hand lightly.

"I stole something from you," he said softly, slightly ashamed…

Stole something? Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. She was listening, just not speaking

"When we were going through your bag before the bachelor party, I grabbed a letter that was for you from him. It looked more recent than the other things and… I don't know why but I grabbed it…" He took it out of his coat pocket, Cooper's blocky lettering spelled out her name on the envelope. "Sorry,"

She took it gently, opening it hesitantly.

Ryan looked away, this wouldn't be good.

Dear Belle,

It was clear his thoughts were all over when he wrote this.

That started the pain again. She remembered he'd told her about the suicide letter he'd written. She read it over and over, the words burning into her memory.

Ryan looked over at her again, "Belle, I…" he really didn't know what to say.

She didn't know what to say or think.

"You positive you don't want to check in on him?" He wouldn't push her to do it but he didn't want her to regret missing the opportunity.

"Maybe…just once…" She whispered under her breath.

Ryan nodded, "If you're sure," he offered her a hand, "I'll walk with you,"

She took his hand gratefully, starting down the hall.

When they arrived to the room, Darren was sitting, holding Cooper's hand and Neal stood just behind him with his had on Darren's shoulder. The two looked up at Belle and Ryan and walked toward them, "Do you, want some time alone with him?" Darren asked quietly.

She nodded slowly. This was her chance to fix everything, she wasn't going to waste it.

He nodded, "Don't do any magic, voodoo, stuff in his brain," Darren sighed as he walked out. Punching Ryan's arm on the way out. Ryan kissed Belle's cheek and followed the other 2.

"No promises." She chuckled before taking the seat next to him. She slipped her hand into his, a slight smile tugging at her lips. "Hey."

Cooper looked up at her through squinted eyes, his hand squeezed down on her's but he squirmed a little.

"I got your letter. Well, Ryan stole it first but I read it." She chuckled slightly.

He stared up at her and nodded gruffly, advised by a doctor not to talk and vibrate his throat from the stent.

"Once again, you predicted my exact thinking." She sighed. "I felt so horrible, like it was my fault."

He spoke despite not being allowed too, his voice was broken and raspy. “Why are you being nice to me?”

(Yeah but the movie was astoundingly underwhelming. This is why people hate going to movies with me, I will point out every flaw and offshoot from the book I can find.)

"I want to make it better. I almost, just almost, ruined everything. Now's my chance to fix it."
