Bell stood in the lobby with her over her mouth. The hospital smelled like death and cleaner. It was overpowering.

Darren had finally managed to sit down but still wouldn't sit still. Ryan found himself doing the pacing.
(Night y’all!)
Night honey! Sleep well!
She still couldn't help but feel like this was her fault. She wished she could just wrap herself in the ice cold numbness that surrounded her and disappear.
Ryan sat next to Belle, "You know, this isn't entirely your fault,"
"He said if I walked out that door I'd never have to see him again. I didn't think he meant it literally."
"I think mentally, he wasn't doing well and this was just the last thing on a long list of things that he was upset about."
Neal walked out and looked at the group, "His surgery is done… He's going to ICU to recover but you guys should go see him,"
Belle instantly stepped back, shaking her head. "I can't face him again so soon."
Neal looked over at Belle, "You don't have to dear but, it might help your brain work things out… Just to see that he's okay?" he smiled a sweet and caring Anderson smile.
She shook her head again. "I said I'd come. That's it."
The two brother's exchanged a look and then looked over at Ryan. Ryan simply shrugged, "I guess she isn't coming," he sighed.
"I can't." Her voice was barely above a whisper. She reached down and pulled the numbness over her like a security blanket.
