"Because we care," Cicada snapped at the girl.

“That’s the biggest lie you’ve told all day,” Victoria snorted. “He’s more honest.” She jerked her head in Duke’s direction. “I told you my name. You tell me yours.”

"Why do you need to know? You're not gonna hunt me down." He paused. "Wait are you?"

“Nope,” Victoria smiled for reals for the first time. “But I’d like to be able to address you properly.”

"Oh well It's Duke." He smiled a little.

Kelly decided, against her better judgment, to take a walk that night. She put on her coat and locked the door of her apartment (it's a very nice apartment complex for "richies") and took the elevator to the ground floor. She walked out into the night.

"He's okay. Just don't get between his and mashed potatoes."

“Hi ‘Okay’,” Victoria said with a grin. “Nice to meet you.”

Kelly walked down a street. (She walks past their hideout and they pull her in or something…)

Duke glanced at the crummy computer in the corner. The security cameras flickered. "Hey we have more company."

“Dopn’t go capture more innocent bystanders, please. Especially ones who don’t bother to even look your way,” Victoria said lamely.

Kelly brushed a piece of hair behind her ear and squealed as a pipe shot a random burst of steam into the air. Purple and blue lights settled on her hair in eerie patterns.
