Derix sat in the high box, trying to contain his excitement. This is the most exciting thing that has happened to me. That's so pitiful…

Artemis looked around. Some rich kids had showed up. They looked a little bored. She smiled when she spotted Derix. She got up and walked over. Maybe talking to him would take her mind off worrying about Asashi.

Derix looked over at Artemis as she approached. He waved, his gaze focused on the game arena.
(Can I win this time?)
She sat down next to him. "As great as you thought it'd be?"

"Better." Derix pointed to a spot in the crowd. "I usually sit there."
She looked. "Huh, That's a pretty good spot for down there. Used to somewhere around there with my dad."

Derix nodded. "Still, I would always look up into the box and imagine what it would be like up here."
"Yeah, it's pretty swell up here."

He nodded. "I missed the announcement. What are they fighting for this time?"
"Winner gets like a week or something in one of the GM's private suites." She said, curling the tip of her braid around her finger.

Derix nodded. "I would like that. I would be an upgrade from my current situation."
"He does it for hunters sometimes. If they bring in a batch of great ones in like one day or please him in some other way."

Derix mentally reminded himself of that. "I'll remember that for future reference."
As the ground shook and changed around her she stayed calm.
She chuckled. "Try to avoid the favors though."

"Why would I?" Derix asked, finally looking at Artemis.
She let go of her braid as her finger tip turned purple. Dam, she shouldn't of said that. She probably shouldn't get too familiar or nice with him. They were only business partners. "I don't know, ma said 'don't do the favors' and I said 'okay' and we never talked about it again."

Derix tilted his head. "What the hell does that mean?"
She shrugged "I don't know! I mean, some of the bounty hunters have done favors, and when I asked they said it depends and sometimes you give up some dignity. Especially if you aren't that well off."

"Well…I'm not well off, so I'll stay away from them I guess…"
She nodded. "That might be a good thing."

Derix sighed. "Those favors seemed so…amazing though. I'd hate to give them up."

Derix nodded, staring back out at the arena. He sighed heavily.
