Aliana let out a short giggle, "Why thank you mister Hatta."

Hatta grinned at her. "Mhm." he continued walking.
"Um," Aliana started walking again as she thought about something to tell him, "I have nightmares almost every night."
Hatta blinked. "Hm. Nightmares, or something else?" he asked slowly. "This is Wonderland, and dreams aren't always just dreams, you know."
"I never thought of them as anything more than nightmares," Aliana quickly shut that idea down. If they were something more she didn't want that, what she saw was far worse than Hatta could ever think up, "I don't have any magic anyway."
"Hm. If you say so." Hatta replied. He seemed more mentally stable today than yesterday, though that was probably a matter of opinion.
"And I do," Aliana felt the need to keep insisting before backing off. Hatta did seem less crazy than yesterday.
"Fine." Hatta replied with a shrug, whistling for a moment.
Aliana stayed quiet. She kept wishing for her nightmares to stop, but then quickly switched it after some thought that they wouldn't come true. She would give anything for her nightmare to be just that, a nightmare.
Hatta was still wishing himself. He wondered if he had forgotten a step. He pulled a book from his hat, flipping through it. "Aha! I forgot a step!" He exclaimed, grinning.
Aliana looked at him, "What? What did you forget?"
"The maze, of course. The maze leads right to it! I got the steps wrong when I first told you. We have to go through the maze, then the well." Hatta replied with a grin.
Aliana let out a little groan, "Wonderful. Now we have to make our way through the maze."
Hatta grinned. "Don't worry, it'll be fun." He replied, adjusting his hat.
"Are you sure about that?" Aliana was apprehensive, "This is Wonderland after all."
"But of course, dear." Hatta replied with a flourish.
"No shifting walls and deadly traps?" Aliens continued, "Just a nice simple maze."
He blinked. "Uhm… yeah, I guess." He replied with a shrug. "Follow me to the maze."
Aliana nodded with a slight smile, "Okay. Lead on."
Hatta kept walking, whistling again. He bounced his head a little as he walked, still whistling.
Aliana grabbed her straps once more. She walked next to him in silence as he whistled.
Hatta continued to whistle. "The maze might take us a few days." He added.
"A few days?" Aliana responded in slight disbelief. She couldn't think of a maze that had ever been that long.
"Yup." Hatta replied. "Don't worry, it's safe. Mostly." He grinned, that same manic, crazy grin from yesterday.
"Mostly?" Aliana continued her streak of disbeleif, "I thought it was just a simple maze- I should know better."
"It's Wonderland, why ever would it be safe?" Hatta replied, not looking at her as he walked down the road.
"That's why I corrected myself," Aliana let out a sigh, "I've been here long enough to know better."
Hatta chuckled. "Are you not from Wonderland originally, miss Aliana?" He asked.
"Um," Aliana let out a little laugh, "It's a long story, but technically no. However, I've lived here all my life."
"Hm. I look forward to unraveling the mystery, then." Hatta replied, tipping his hat to her.
