Elise walked next to him, humming softly.

Havenwood shook his head at his child. “He’s so ridiculous already. He’ll be as demanding as Hercules.”

"Oh, he'll be fine. Nothing we can't handle - I hope." She reassures.

Havenwood chuckled and nudged her. “Yeah, we can handle anything this little bugger throws at us.”

“After all, he has parts of us in him. We’ll be okay.” She giggles.

Havenwood chuckled too. “He certainly does.”

“I suppose that might mean he has a mind of his own.” She chuckled softly, gazing lovingly at her family.

Havenwood hummed gently. “That is a good thing, especially considering he gets it from you.”

“Oh really now?” She smiled.

“Yep. How can someone like you live in so many different places without being confident?” He nudged her.

“Well, I-“ She decided that it was a rhetorical question and shook her head, grinning.

Havenwood nudged her again. “Anyway, back home…” He stepped carefully over the rocky path of the gorge.

She followed him, placing her feet carefully as they crossed the gorge.

Thelisi tugged on Havenwood’s hair. “Fishy!”

Elise blinked once, then turned from her child to Havenwood in surprise.
"Was that…his first word?" A grin slowly spread across her face.

“Fishy fishy fishy fishy fishy!”
Havenwood sounded close to laughter. “I think so.”

"Fishy indeed." Elise laughed softly.

Thelisi tugged on Havenwood’s hair and pointed down into the gorge. “Fishy!”

"There are fish in the gorge. Good observation, bugger," She chuckled.

Havenwood chuckled too.
“Fishy fishy fishy fishy!!!!”

"I wonder how long it'll be until he learns a new word." Elise comments.

Havenwood hummed curiously. “Maybe not long…”
Thelisi looked around, squealing in delight as they reached the forest.

"I suppose." She smiled lovingly at them.

Havenwood took Elise’s hand and steered her to their house. “Do you just wanna wait, or do you wanna eat now?”
“Eat! Eat!” Thelisi chanted.

"Aha! Lookie there." Elise grinned at her son and then turned to her fiance. "I guess we could eat now."

“Eat fishy! Eat fishy!” Thelisi squeaked.
“I dunno if I’m in the mood for fish, Thelisi.”

"I think he's just putting two words together. What do you want to eat?"

Havenwood chuckled. “Dunno, what do you want?”
