Those who encounter hostile witches are dead men walking. That isn't to say she is one, but Linnaea is not the pacifist most people have come to expect from witches either. She comes off as approachable when you initially meet her, but she's quick to assert her power and indicate who is in charge.

They'd always be friends she had told them, her classmates since elementary school. She was the strong witch who promised to protect them, and they trusted her. But on the night they would need her most, on the eve of senior prom, she was arriving late to their usual meeting place. To Linnaea's horror, she arrived only to find gang members looting their corpses in the alleyway, clothes torn and bloody. None of the girls could've known that the city's newest gang was nowhere near as caring as the old established one.

Unlike the other High Priestesses who were made broken by the eldest witches, this was the event that broke Linnaea's pacifism. None of the men in that alleyway escaped her wrath that night, and when she was finished with them, even their parents could hardly identify their bodies. A careful spell wiped any trace of her from the crime scene.

She initially joined the Brain Melters to carry out her revenge on the fledgling gang, whose members turned out to be no more than a group of rowdy low-lives. After her miserable prom night and high school graduation, she stayed with the Melters. She wasn't going to marry a man, not after she had seen what they did to her friends. She couldn't live following the government's plan, knowing they were doing nothing about the predators hunting the streets for innocent women. If she could do more to help young girls in the shadows, then so be it.

Sell the drugs. Fight the enemies. Save the downtrodden, and never look back on the person you used to be. It's better than what miserable life you could have had as a witch in society's mandatory coupling program.

It didn't take long before the Coven heard of her and swiftly added Linnaea to their ranks. Her compassionate yet cutthroat duality proved effective in the way she led her followers. The Coven told her to set up business among Mitzen's black market, but due to the city's predominately magicless population, she became the first witch to allow magicless into the gang.

Her abilities are far more developed than Tyler's. Spatial manipulation is a breeze. She can turn lead into gold, and plants into steel.

Not a flaw in her magic, but the only thing stopping her from single-handedly taking over Mitzen's underground is her not wanting to attract attention from Caelian authorities.
