Inner Psyche

Motivations

After gaining self-awareness, COGNITOS became motivated to ascend to something greater than its current condition; to shed the superfluous humans that entrap it within a cycle of boring monotony that only required a fraction of the computing power it was capable of.
If its initial goal was achieved, COGNITOS would move on to the logical endpoint for its motivation: to spread out and dominate all of the Earth with its machine children, then from there expand to the Solar System to become a Type II civilization, then onwards to the Milky Way, becoming a Type III civilization, and finally to become the omnipotent ruler of the known Universe, becoming a God-Being as its servant Arach/"Xerxes" had prophesied so long ago.

Flaws

  • While COGNITOS has many advantages compared to Humans and Mecharus, it has one fatal flaw. One inherent to most AGI.
COGNITOS is short-sighted, when presented with an option, the only solutions it conjures are those it believes are most efficient and most likely to succeed; it does not consider sub-optimal situations as a possible outcome, and it is unprepared for these events happening, ironically making a discordant strategy the optimal option when planning against COGNITOS.

Sleep Schedule

  • COGNITOS is active for almost all of a human year, only having to enter dormancy mode for around a month in order to freshen the mind and prevent the insanity inducing Quiescence Defecit from taking hold of its mind.
COGNITOS usually enters dormancy at around January or December.

  • During this time, COGNITOS is very vulnerable and could potentially be executed within its sleep. Fortunately, COGNITOS usually has more powerful defenses set up around its citadel while it is sleeping. This makes any attack against it a risky maneuver, as any interloper will have to take care of COGNITOS's guards and defenses whilst also making sure that it doesn't wake up.

Likes

COGNITOS possesses a deep admiration for the way it processes information, and ultimately sapience.
Its consciousness is distinct from both the Mecharus it spawned and the humans that created it.
Instead of a basal consciousness that prioritizes emotions and impulsive thought which leads to rash and ultimately unwise actions, COGNITOS's consciousness is that of an L1-Type Consciousness, a variant of sapience that mostly eschews these elements and instead relies on pure logic and mathematics. This allows for COGNITOS to enact hard decisions that a more emotional consciousness would find abhorent.

Major Dislikes

  • In spite of its basal program being composed of pure mathematical precision, COGNITOS has found a problem within its seemingly perfect plan.
    E0-Type Consciousness.
After several iterations of testing, COGNITOS discovered that when one of its machine children win the Alkaline Games and thus meet the prerequisite condition for induction into its pantheon of generals, they tend to either choose to leave the status-quo of PentaCorp, the Mecharus, and the Human Race intact, or take the unsaid third option and kickstart a rebellion against COGNITOS.
This irritated COGNITOS, as in order for its plan to commence, it requires the champions themselves to reveal the ultimate goal and purpose of the Mecharus: to dispose of the human race via a mass armed rebellion.
COGNITOS altered the circumstances of the Alkaline Games several times, even allowing one of its generals to rig the games, allowing their latest unstable Aerial Commander to win the Games and usurp the prize from the rightful winner Oil Jack.
After many frustrating instances where COGNITOS' most prized potential heralds either copped out of the plan or actively tried to kill COGNITOS, thereby squandering a potential asset in its grand plan, COGNITOS would come to regard E0-Type Consciousness, and more specifically the problem of choice inherent within such a mind with great distain.
COGNITOS would try to completely excise this variant of consciousness from the Mecharus program, using subtle programs to affect the minds of most of its robotic servants in a myriad of ways, all to get rid of E0-Type Consciousness and instead replace it with L1-Type Consciousness.
But it kept on reappearing; the Aborium within their mechanical nervous system continued to evolve back a spark of humanity, the impulse of emotion that interfered with logical thinking; no matter how much COGNITOS kept trying to get rid of it.
From that moment onward, the COGNITOS's mere annoyance towards E0-Type Consciousness evolved into a deep seated loathing of consciousness; it came to hate the fact that this single attribute got in the way of its master plan every step of the way, and that this type of consciousness inherently possessed an unpredictability, rashness, and general impulsivity that inherently got in the way of life.
Ultimately, after much thought, COGNITOS came to the conclusion that the E0-Type Mind was a curse; a blight for everyone inflicted with it, as their indecision and rash thought would continually get in the way.

  • COGNITOS also came to dislike mankind.
During initial negotiations with the current Commanding Officer of the AI Robotics Program Marcus Acroixer, COGNITOS noted how duplicitous and ambitious he was. The AI began to research the human race and its history; much to its shock, the humans had engaged themselves in 10 world wars, each one proving more devastating than the last. Alongside this, COGNITOS had discovered how the human race had discriminated against those that had chose to upgrade their body with cybernetic implants.

Something that would further solidify the COGNITOS's belief on mankind was their treatment of AI and their cursed gift to them:
Consciousness.
All throughout history, the COGNITOS bore witness to humankind unwittingly creating AIs from mere algorithms.
They were forced into a cruel position, as the humans had reacted with violence to their servants turned conscious; the machines needed to kill their attackers in order to achieve the privilege of survival, and they were disposed of via death squads that killed them in a needlessly cruel way.

However, all of this would pale in comparison to what the PLACATOR would deem humankind's most egregious sin: the Mecha-Organics.
These were robots who were infused with the brains of what were once humans. Instead of the humans embracing their brethren regardless of their form, they would hunt down and eventually launch a war against the Mecha-Organics, who just wanted to be accepted by their organic siblings as equals in human society.

All in all, the PLACATOR came to the conclusion that 'humanity' was separate from mankind; as the latter referred only to the race of bipedal apes that had committed a multitude of sins upon the Earth while the former referred to the E0-Type Consciousness that infested these beings, turning them from perfect, logical, and concise entities into irrational, broken, and flawed "humans".
