Birdie has started to help her for about a month after the two began to date. Birdie made Cathy take a one month break from work entirely, with only a small working day in the middle, as compromise.

Fights for the City

In Rose Lake, mayor-ship has more of a monarchy style when choosing its heir. It has been passed down through different families. When a mayor is tyrannical, bigoted, or problematic in any way, not only do they lose the right to mayor-ship, the entire family after that loses the right.
The family has to have at least a small amount of human relation, in correlation to the planet they are on.
Catherine's family has been heirs for the past 6 generations. She felt immense pressure, as she had to take on the role when she is 35. She also had a love for robotics, and
her job in the Safety Department. She was terrified of losing this job to something she wouldn't want to do.
She has a younger sister, who is 22, who Cathy could tell was jealous of her sister's heir-ship.
It took her a year of persuasion, arguing, and paperwork, but she managed to switch her role onto her sister, who was immensely grateful.
She now works at the Head of the Safety Department full time.

College for the Magically Inclined

Teaching Lilith how to create AI's and other robotics, as she wants to learn it as an alternative to her powers.

Loves being picked up, especially when Birdie picks her up after Cathy comes home from work.

One of her parents is a Star Person, as they are called, meaning that they are essentially just stars, and come to different planets when they see beings they are attracted to. A star person will assess if the being they are attracted to is worthy of their love, and if so, will meet with and attach themselves to them. This means that when this being dies, they will join the Star Person in the afterlife, which is essentially just becoming stardust and travelling the galaxy, unseen by others, unless you want to.
They have usually have no external powers, only beauty, seen in Cathy's skin and eyes. Her eyes and the glittering in her skin will change colors depending on her age, and corresponds with the stages of stars.
She ages twice as slow, and will live to be 200, but look 100. She is very distraught about this, and longs for her own death, as after that, every life with Birdie will be like a regular human lifespan.
She was going through menopause and as a result had her uterus removed and donated.

Has installed LOTS of robotics into herself to compensate for being non-magic. Her hands have long blades in them that extend out then she touches the part before her elbows and flicks out (think the thing all the thor characters do with two blades)
She also has the Ghost in the Shell typing hands that extend out at will.
One eye was damaged in a battle, so she herself replaced it with a recording device - it has a microphone and camera that can go for up to a 14 days.
-It also has a night-vision mode, so she can close one eye to see out the other.
She installed a microchip into her brain to memorize different languages - think of it as Spotify when you download music rather than save it - its always there while you have to think for a while to play saved songs.
Put microphones in ears to not only hear better, but to translate different languages, it currently downloaded all Earth languages, and is moving on to recording Alien languages.

Parental relation elongates her life to about 200 years, so her real age to her physical age would be 2:1

Has strong immunity to heat - can be thrown in the fire pit and come out unharmed, though her clothes suffer a bit.
