History
October 7, 1826
Buck was born in Archae, a little coastal town, and grew up there until he was four, when his parents moved to the capital city of Darvi (D-arrr-vi). His parents were high-ranking government officials, who thought it very important that Buck could defend himself, and read and write. Buck received the best schooling possible, with his father teaching him swordsmanship as well. When Buck was ten, he met another boy, a year older, who he only knew as Leilson. Leilson was a cheerful boy, who loved a good fistfight. To Buck, he wasn't nearly as polished and poised as the boys he had to interact with on a daily basis at school, all of whom seemed dry and boring. Buck often told stories to all his littler cousins, reading from the old storybook or simply making them up. One of the little kids' favorites was the story of the first elementals, and any others about them, though the elementals had not been seen for 100 years. Until Buck was 14, everything was fine. Then everything changed when Ravenna attacked. She started in the North, taking over small villages and towns, and as she made her way through the country, the armies massed. Ravenna, however, proved to be unstoppable, her march taking her straight to the capital. Buck fled with his parents, Leilson having disappeared long before. They fled, running from town to town and helping them out. Buck's father was a commander in the army, and his presence often helped reassure the townsfolk. His parents realized long before he did that their defeat was inevitable. In one of the last cities still free, they made their final stand. Buck was placed on a rooftop to fight, in a defensible position, while his parents were elsewhere. For a while, it seemed they might succeed, until they were betrayed by Edric Montson, a man his parents had trusted. He killed them, and the city was over-run. Buck was imprisoned by Ravenna, the only item he was able to bring with him the old storybook. Prison
Has had as much education as possible, though not as much as others, due to going to prison because of Ravenna

Magic
Elemental, he has the element of magic, giving him some of the strongest magic ever to have existed, which he uses on instinct, not with spells.
Fate/Destiny/the powers that be have bestowed it upon him, in order to fight Ravenna. Since Elemental magic is also genetic, it has been passed down his family line from a forgotten ancestor.
Very short length of time, still has no idea how it works.
