Ravenna was born Raven Archori, and she was a princess. Her older brother was the crown prince, in line for the throne. Then, in a horrible accident, the entire royal family but for her died, and she was left as the sole heir to the throne. She expected the throne to be given to her, as, logically, it was hers. But the other royals of the court were quick to snatch it away from her, casting her out. She became the forgotten princess. Angry, devastated, and vengeful, she wandered, learning magic. She came to the elementals, begging them to help her, and take her in. They refused, saying it was not their business. She scorned them, saying that if they wouldn't help the rightful heir, they would never help anyone, cursing them to slumber until awoken by one who was worthy. Then, she began her plan. She knew a quick, sudden attack would result in her losing, so little by little, over the years, she conquered small towns at the fringes of the country, one every 5-8 years. Nearly 100 years later, prolonging her life via magic, she launched a full scale attack, taking control by creating Shadow creatures, which are hard to kill, and, as they are not living, do not bleed.
