Edric's father was a white, from a small town, and his mother was darker-skinned, from a local tribe. His father was executed when he was 5, after his father broke the law and was given the death penalty. he moved with his mother back to her tribe, where he grew up learning and living with them. At age 18, he struck out on his own, and soon "befriended" Buck's parents. They grew to be decent friends, and he liked them, in his own way. He was a drifter though, and he soon left, not bothering to keep in touch. He ran into Ravenna, who told him that if he did what she asked, he would be given power beyond his wildest dreams. He eagerly complied, and headed back to Darvi. There, he joined the army, and was one of Buck's father's aides. When Ravenna attacked, Edric fled with the Sanderson's. In the city where they made their final stand, Edric betrayed them, killing both adult Sandersons before 14 year old Buck's horrified eyes. After that, Edric was rewarded by Ravenna, and went his own way after promising to help if needed.
