Kaily sings a lot and if she isn't singing she's usually telling some kind of story. a legend, recap of the day up to that point, how she once rode her bike into a tree because she forgot how breaks work, one-man show of Shakespeares Macbeth... you name it. She tends to not pay attention to any problems that do not directly concern her wellbeing.
Her bright, talkative and easygoing nature often means she's the first to engage with another group of survivors and does most of the negotiating for food, information and clothing.

She has little regard for the safety of others or moral codes when conducting her experiments with chemicals

She's unbelievably good at chemistry and has a knack for repairing simple machines and vehicles. Playing the violin, mandolin, singing and playing the piano (from incredible to acceptable in that order) is also something she's good at.

Composing songs and singing them on slow evenings. She likes going on solo missions with Amy as well although she often messes up being stealthy due to her humming the mission impossible theme song

Normally she's the kind of person who's easy to talk to as she listens to every word with great attention and responds with motivating advice. However, when it comes to her experiments it's as if she slips into a completely different personality. On such occasions she takes little notice of those around her and can be heard mumbling to herself and bursting out in maniacal laughter with regular intervals, snapping at whatever would interrupt her work.

Kaily inherited her love for chemistry from both her parents and learned how to repair motorcycles and make survival gear with nearly nothing from her father. It may be that she got her questionable morals from them as well as both got arrested for illegal experiments when Kaily was 12 years old.
With no other family, she was put into foster families but was quickly transported to special institutions when these families started to show signs of poisoning.
She arrived at Morrowbay asylum not long after Muirne Lefdoiten and since they are about the same age the two quickly bonded.

The laws of the government restrict the possibilities and efficiency of her research greatly.

She only has her crude, portable laboratory at hand which is very limiting. But she also actively tries to resist the urge to test new solutions on the others.

Kaily helps Muirne Lefdoiten with acquiring flammable gasses who, in return, helps her with conducting small-scale experiments to create new (chemical) weapons, poisons and medicine.
