Nature
Ankou will rarely ever dress out of her armor, even in non-combative situations. Her upbringing has drilled into her the poise of a reigning monarch with the firm hand of a warlord in the fragmented warring period. Ankou will go out of her way to not be seen without some sort of head covering (veil, hat, etc.) because of her horns and eyes.
Despite her personable behavior among her court, Ankou keeps people at arms length. Her interactions are a basic level of politeness that is minutely adjusted to each person’s rank of seniority in her court. When she isn’t in the company of others, her thoughts take over and make her nearly unconscious to the world around her.
She will recognize how someone is feeling through body language cues or use other physical traits to identify someone to compensate for her lack of facial recognition abilities. She will avoid addressing people by name at the start of the conversation until either she figures out who she is speaking to or someone else identifies the person for her.
She has been drilled to have excellent posture, added with her height, it gives her quite an intimidating presence. Ankou will almost always fold her arms behind her back or keep them at her sides, she rarely puts her arms in front of her body.
Ankou is unused to the rich foods served at Garreg Mach, so she will eat smaller portions but at shorter intervals.
She can be frequently found in the library, the docks, and the stables.
Ankou wishes to see a united Albinea and will go through any means to achieve it. The well-being of her people are her highest priority, and believes that an authoritative figure should always have the interests of their subjects in mind.
Self-sacrificial, lack of empathy (cognitive), unable to form close bonds with others
Ankou believes that the common people have very little agency on their own and must be reliant on others.
Strengths: Sword, Riding, Flying
Budding Talent (Weakness>Strength): Lance
Despite her station, she is predisposed towards handicrafts, wood carving especially. It was a way to practice manual dexterity and a calming method.
A strict utilitarian but is optimistic about the nature of people.
Ankou has lived her formative years with very little social interaction outside of instruction and that leaves her a bit emotionally stunted. Add to the fact her facial blindness and her status, she is effectively isolated among her peers and subjects. However, she believes it is her sworn duty as king to cast aside anything that would hinder her ability to effectively govern.
To her, the living and the dead are very intertwined. What is done for the dead, is in service of the living. Ankou holds very little interest in the rest of the scripture of Akasha, but ascribes vehemently to the mythology of the dead.
Prosopagnosia - inability to recognize faces
(As the game campaign progresses, she gradually loses sight in her eyes from the repeated use of her crest. As the final enemy commander, she sacrifices her ability to walk to connect to Akasha.)
Low register (contralto), slightly throaty chest voice
History
11th Month, 24th Day
24th day of Red Wolf Moon
She has been educated in various forms of politics and martial arts by tutors provided by the High Court’s mage Ambrose.
Ankou was born out of wedlock through trickery by the previous High King and the court mage to create the perfect heir. The then Royal Consort of Mann, Ylva Hermes Rivoire-Grimnir, sent away her daughter once she realized that her husband was not the true sire of her child. Ambrose intercepted the maid tasked with leaving the child to exposure and deposited her to a chapel at the base of one of the sea facing mountains making up the Akasha’s Spine mountain range.
Ankou spent much of her adolescence in a chapel in the northernmost region of Albinea. There she was apprenticed to a groundskeeper of a cemetery and taught politics and martial arts by homunculi tutors sent by the court mage.
The day she turned 13, Ambrose instructed her to travel to Armorica to reclaim her birthright. When Ankou arrived at the citadel of the castle town, the legitimacy to her claim was questioned as any subsequent child the royal couple had sired since then had died during the crest transfer process. The unrest was quelled when Ankou showed them a marking at the nape of her neck. To the native Albineans, the mark held no great significance but to Royal Consort Ylva, who was born across the sea in the mainland of Fódlan, it was something intricately tied to her.
The crest of Aubin, while having not manifested in Ylva herself, was something that reminded her of her origins in Fódlan. Thus Ankou, this wayward vagabond, was thought to be the once lost first child of the royal couple.
Ascended to the throne at 15
That same year, an insurrection was incited and her mother was kidnapped as a hostage. At the behest of her mother, Ankou fired into the crowd to put a swift end to the rebellion.
Social
A practitioner of the Scriptures of Akasha but not as devout as she should be as a monarch. Ankou is a vehement follower of the mythology of the dead within the religion however.
Albinean High King candidate
King of Mann
Pheasant Roast and Berry Sauce, Grilled Herring, Fruit and Herring Tart, Two Fish Sauté, Cabbage and Herring Stew

A heavy cloak made from extremely fine furs. It probably belongs to someone from the north.

Flavor text: Nothing escapes the sight of a Griffon hunter master, this unit has increased movement when adjacent to an ally.)
-> Hippogriff Rider (A later class that switches Ankou’s griffon for the beast of legend, the Hippogriff. It opens a second mastery for the lance.
Flavor text: Chosen by the mythical beast of Albinea, Ankou rides astride the Hippogriff with a sword and lance. She has an increased range of movement when adjacent to an ally.)

Notes
How she fits into the 3H canon (AU):
High King () is still alive but Ankou still ascends to her position as petty king of Mann after her father finished transferring his crest to her. The same year as her coronation, an insurrection breaks out and Ankou is forced to kill her mother when the rebels take her hostage. Her father dies shortly thereafter. She proceeds to conquer and unite the northern provinces into one large coalition for the next three years under an iron fist.
To establish good relations with Fódlan, she attends the Officer’s Academy at Garreg Mach Monastery for a year under the direction of the High King’s court mage, Ambrose. Through her mother and the proximity of Albinea, she will be placed in the Blue Lions house (the continent of Albinea has a small population and thus does not have a large enough class size to justify a new house). She attends at her 18th year and should she stay for the time skip she will be 23 years old.
In the five year time skip, if proper rapport isn’t built, she will return to Albinea where their own succession crisis is underway after the High King dies and the two heirs are discovered. Should the player achieve B-rank support before the time skip, she will return having resolved the succession in the five years she was absent as the High King of Albinea.
She is capped at B rank supports for all members of the Blue Lions house, etc.
She has a paralogue with Sylvain in the post-time skip period with a unique C-rank battalion as a reward.
(Albinean Headhunters - a fierce band of Griffon Riders personally selected by Ankou for the Wild Hunt.)
Minor Crest of Aubin (Occasionally prevents enemy counterattacks when using a weapon)
Crown-level Akashic Crest (Sometimes seals def/res by -10, all other times seals def/res by -6)
