Overview
L-10 Multipurpose "MOONSHOT" Boomstick (Io)
"MOONSTICK'
"MOONSHOT"
While the "L-10" in this weapon's name may lead some to believe that this weapon was the tenth firearm produced by Cobblecord, this is actually false.
Unlike the majority of his contemporaries, Cobblecord uses the Base-2 System, meaning that every number is replaced with a binary equivalent.
This means that the L-10 is the second custom-made weapon created by Cobblecord for use by another Mecharus. The owner of this firearm named it "MOONSHOT" for two reasons.
For one, her favorite celestial body is the moon.
Secondly, the firearm's owner's stated goal for obtaining this weapon and joining the Arena Manifest is to "Fire up and away! To the moon and beyond the stars!", as such, she added the "SHOT" to the name as a way to homage a rocket launch, which epitomizes her journey into the Alkaline Games.
Dangerous, but full of endless potential. To soar up to the skies which the Caretakers never knew.
Variable Firearm
An extremely lightweight and versatile weapon created by Cobblecord after extraction of combat data from the Alkaline Games. This weapon is a unique model from Cobblecord, meaning that no other copies of this firearm were ever produced.
The L-10 Multipurpose Boomstick was created for an old friend of Cobblecord's, who desired the addition of his fighter to the Alkaline Games Manifest. In exchange for some funds, some confidential data, and combat data from Mecharus both in and out of the Arena, the retired munitions dealer would create a masterpiece of pure destructive potential. A weapon unpredictable in its danger yet reliable in its effectiveness.
While the owner of this weapon isn't the type to take joy in the pain and screaming of their enemies, she would gradually come to enjoy using this weapon, even if she'll refuse to admit it.
Physical Attributes
- [Bright Silver]
-Much like its owner, the L-10 Boomstick is a shiny silver in color with glowing highlights that change color in response to the emotional state of whoever's wielding it.
One of the friends that commissioned it insisted that the Boomstick match the design of his emblem. But Cobblecord refused, saying that the wielder of the weapon should be the one to determine how it looks, not him.
The wielder in question was apparently too shy to request the gun come in her favorite color, and instead came in Cobblecord's distinctive silver color scheme. She wasn't all that irked up about it, as silver was her third favorite color next to purple and blue. However, her operator was very irritated by this, as it looked too much like a generic firearm.
The operator even threatened to "ground" her, but the owner of the L-10 slapped him in return, and he rarely brought it up since.
History
- The L-10 MOONSHOT was created in the year 2099.
- It first saw use in Round 1.5 of the Alkaline Games, where Io was slated to fight the twins Wiretap and Tapwire, a methodical sniper and a hypervolatile brute respectively.
While Dreadbomb wanted to hold off on deploying their ace weapon this early on, Io surmised that MOONSHOT was necessary to deal with both opponents in a timely manner without having to brutally maim and kill them.
Once in the Arena, Io would use MOONSHOT to great effect against both the twins and the freelance operative Cow's Bane, who had somehow inserted himself into the Arena beforehand.
Notes
- This is going to be a painful weapon to draw..
