Overview
The Firespear
Holy Relic
The Firespear is said to be a greatsword forged of pure adamantine and inlaid with ancient celestial runes. The grip and pommel are said to be adorned with the finest rubies and garnets.
History
Abilities
Said to be the weapon forged for Adraghe himself, The Firespear has had a vast number of magical properties and abilities attributed to it over countless generations. Many of these powers often depend on where the story of the sword is being told as different cultures often describe The Firespear very differently. Mostly commonly The Firespear is said to be able to emit a heat and light so pure and searing that no being, not even one made wholly of flames, could stand before it and survive. The exact method of delivery for this ascribed power is inconsistent even within the same culture. Some groups claim the blade must strike a foe before bursting forth with energy. Other groups claim the sword only needs to be held aloft.
Other common abilities include the power for the wielder to discern between truth and fiction with one hundred percent certainty, the power to bring the recently or even long since deceased back to life without resorting to "necromancy", the power to grant the wielder the ability to see the invisible and the power to turn the hearts of evil mortals to pure altruism at a mere glance.
Like many truly major artifacts the sword likely has a vast array of powers that have yet been discovered. It is theorized by thaumancers that the sword's abilities, and even its appearance, are wont to change depending entirely on who wields it.
