" i love you too kai." he said and yawned.

A brief silence filled the room. Neither had much energy, it being the middle of the night, nor did they even know what to talk about. They were fairly happy with each other, but neither knew how long things would be at peace.. It only lasted about fifteen minutes, as then Kaito fell into another, more violent, more intense, coughing fit…

"k..kaito.. are you alright?" shuichi asked, tears filling his eyes.

Kaito couldn't bring himself to respond… The coughing only got worse…

shuichi quickly grabbed an inhaler from his back " try this," he said and handed the inhaler over.

Kaito quickly grabbed the inhaler from Shuichi, and luckily, using it seemed to help tremendously, the coughing fit soon coming to an end.

shuichi ran his fingers through the others hair " you okay?"

Kaito was silent for a moment before replying. "I don't know anymore.."

"…' shuichi put his forehead on the others. it will be okay."

"I'm sure it will be… Sorry for worrying you.." He sighed.

" dont be, i worried either way, "

"I know… I feel bad, though.. I know it's out of my control, but it really feels like I'm the one behind the worry you feel when it comes to me…as if I'm intentionally doing this or something.. No idea why I feel so bad about it…"

" its because you human. just be free from it okay?" he said and gave the other another kiss

Kaito relaxed a bit when the other kissed him. "Okay. Thank you, Shuichi.. I appreciate all of the help so far.."

" i am only trying my best.."

"Well, you've done a lot so far..so thank you.."

" your welcome.."

Kaito pulled the other as close to him as he could. "Please don't leave my side.." He was still a bit scared that he would die, given what happened only moments prior..

" i wont," he said and sighed, he nuzzled into the other

"Thank you…" He held onto the other tightly. "Seriously, thank you…."

" its what boyfriends do,"

"I know, but I cannot thank you enough, anyway… I don't know why I'm surprised you're not leaving me…"

" why would i though?"

"I don't know.. I'm basically dying.. Some people really would leave to save themselves the trouble…"

" theres no trouble in staying with you.."

"I really appreciate it, though.. I'm honestly surprised you didn't… You already have a lot to deal with…and now there's my health on top of it…"

" your health has always been a concern to me, even when we were young. im used to it"

"You shouldn't have to worry about that, but I can't really help it… I'm just glad you're willing to help…"
