"A brilliant plan." Lucky said with a snort, shaking her head. It was a horrible plan, and everyone knew it. It'd be fun, at least. "Kinda reminds me o' one o' those plans ya hear abou' in stories."

@Dirt

(Plot twist, this is a story. Dun dun dun! Okay I'll butt out now sorry. Lol. Also sorry its kinda short.)

Estaban shook his head with a laugh, "lets hope its brilliant enough to work. "Do they work out in the stories?"

Lucky tilted her head as she thought. "Sometimes. Other times, they go way wrong. But-" She added, before he could say anything. "-somehow, things end up a'ight."

@Dirt

Estabon sighed, "so in other words, we have a chance?" He smiled to cover up the sarcasm. "Better get our plan straight if we do wanna live."

Lucky rolled her eyes, keeping one hand on her hip and letting the other drop. "We got a chance, yeah. A'ight, let's flesh this plan out a bit."

@Dirt

"Right. We get ya all dressed up, sneak int' town, ya call pirate I get arrested nd' ya suduce the guard?" Estaban shook his head. "Nd' we wait fer' night fall?"

"Works for me." Lucky nodded, looking up at Estaban. "You gonna be a'ight, gettin' arrested? It's your call, we could always think o' somethin' else."

@Dirt

"I'll be fine. Its you I'm worried about. Ya sure ya want to go through with this?" Estaban met her gaze, worry write all over his face.

Lucky blinked, startled yet again by the concern. She gave him a lopsided smile, paired with a wink. "I'm always down for a bit o' adventure. Don' worry 'bout me."

@Dirt

"If her touches ya, vet his hands off." Estaban gave his own wink, even if he did still seem worried.
"If we're lucky we'll make it into port by the next night. Rest up, we've got a busy day tomorrow.

"Ya should know by now that ain't happenin'." Lucky said, referring to her habit of getting way less sleep than she really should. "I'll try, though."

@Dirt

(By the way, sorry for my crappy spelling. Oh boy. Also sorry I've been ignoring this. I've been trying to come up with a good response cuz in some RP's my brain is just dead. I also don't want to bore you so I take forever to respond cuz I'm trying not to sound stupid. Oh gosh, sorry!)

Estaban offered a small smile. He hadn't been sleeping much lately either and it'd been starting to show. Maybe it was because he was stressing about something. Or maybe he'd just been slightly disappointed that they'd be parting ways soon.

((Don't worry! I do the same sometimes, when my brain's just not working for certain rps. And your spelling isn't a problem, don't worry.))

"If I have t' sleep, so d'you though." Lucky said, pointing up at him. "Ya can' just tell me to and not do it yourself." There was a slight undercurrent of concern to her voice.

@Dirt

(Ah thanks. I low-key think you're really cool and you kinda intimidate me.)

Estaban raised his hands in defeat. "Of course, cap" he winking jokingly, but was slightly surprised that she sounded concerned.

((Wait wait wait, I intimidate you? How? Why? I'm a literal mess of depression and words?))

Lucky harrumphed, crossing her arms over her chest smugly. "I'd make a great captain, thank you very much." Her smug expression was broken by a smile though.

@Dirt

(Ah I dont know, I'm easily intimidated by people I find cool. But like, imma mess too, don't worry.)

"Well if I die you have complete control of my ship." Estaban shook his head with a laugh, bowing to her like she was royalty.

((You shouldn't be intimidated of me, 'cause I was fairly intimidated of you. I'm pulling an Uno Reverse))

"Unfortunately for me, y'ain't allowed t' die." Lucky said, shaking her head with a laugh. She tilted Estaban's hat, which she'd never actually returned to him, shooting him a wink.

@Dirt

(That moment when two people where intimidated by the other. Also sorry, I stared at this for the past two days.)

"Unfortunately? What, where ya actually hopping I'd die?" Estaban raised an eye brow, jokingly of course.
He hadn't minded that she'd kept his hat. In fact he was sure it'd looked better on her anyway.

((Lmao, I feel that on a spiritual level.))

"I'd love t' be a captain." Lucky corrected, chuckling. "But like I said, ya can' die. Not while I'm aroun' at least." She said, not quite explaining all that well.

@Dirt

Estaban barked out a laugh. "Well then, guess I gotta live a few more hours." Not that he was gonna die. But he still found joking with her fun. He knew he'd miss it when she did leave.

A few more hours. That's right. She had promised to leave. In the midst of the joking and planning, Lucky had almost managed to forget. Her smile wavered moment, but she managed to keep it in place. "Yup. I'll kick your ass if you don'." She threatened, pointing at him.

@Dirt

Estaban shook his head, still laughing. "Yes ma'am." He raised his hands and defeat, though he had noticed how her smile seemed to waver. "Ya alrigh' Lucky?"

"O' course." Lucky blinked, reminding herself to be a bit more careful around him. He was a bit too observant. "Why d'ya ask?"

@Dirt

(Ah I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I have A lot going on rn. Also sorry this is really short.)

"Ya jus' seemed a bit off." Estaban softened his expression, watching her carefully.

((You're good! I've been off and on while trying to make sure I graduate, so I get it))

Lucky looked away, shoving her hands in her pockets. "It's nothin'. Jus'…thinkin' abou' what comes next."

@Dirt

(Congrats on almost being free from school!)

What did come next? They pull off their task and split ways? Never to see the other again? The thought was almost painful. But after that? Then what would happen? Estaban sighed, not knowing how to answer he question fully. "Stay outta trouble?" He joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Lucky managed a smile, huffing a laugh. "I don' think I can fully make tha' promise, cap. I attract trouble like storms." I don't think I want to go.

@Dirt

"Well better hope ya don't tomorrow. Can't mess up er we'll both be hung." Estaban forced a laugh, still trying to keep things light. "Best get sum rest." He smiled at her, kind and soft, yet some how sad. "See ya in the morning." He didn't know how much more he could say before asking her to stay.

"You best be restin' too, mister." Lucky instructed, already turning away. She bit her bottom lip, wanting desperately to keep talking, but started for the door. That's a mistake. You've finally found yourself a family, and you're leaving?

@Dirt

"Don' worry 'bout me." Estabans smile slipped when she turned away. How could he continue to smile? He found himself enjoying her company. Would he miss Lucky? Would she miss him?
