(well I was thinking maybe Gij could get situated with Murdock first?)

(Well yeah. I thought you meant with their relationship.)

(idk, maybe Murdock is being all nice and does something dorky or something and Gij like falls in love with that?)

Murdock eventually stretched before looking over at Gij. "Do you have anywhere to stay tonight?" he asked

Gij looked up at Murdock and beamed. “Oh, no, I don’t.”

"Do you want to stay here then? I have plenty of extra space for you and Sobex," Murdock offered

Gij smiled a toothy grin and nodded. “That’d be wonderful!”

"I don't have any spare beds or anything though, and I'm out of hammocks. Unless you want to share a bed, you'll probably have to sleep on the couch," Murdock said

Gij shrugged. “I don’t really mind where I sleep. Sobex could sleep up here or in a fireplace.”

"I don't think we have a fireplace, but he could always sleep with you or something," Murdock suggested

Gij frowned. “I don’t think I’d be warm enough.”

"Maybe he can sleep with one of the drakes? A lot of them have heaters built in for emergencies," Murdock said with a shrug

“Drakes?” Gij repeated, his eyebrows furrowing.

"They're sort of my assistants. They're robotic drakes that are scattered around the building," Murdock explained

“Are you sure they won’t hurt Sobex?”
Sobex rose his head at his name and yapped.

"Of course not. They're incredibly well behaved, and so long as I tell one of the database drakes Sobex is a friend, they won't hurt him," Murdock answered. "Here, watch." He got up and went into the kitchen and pressed a button, and a robotic, lizard-like creature popped out of the ceiling

Sobex squeaked and hopped to his paws, yapping loudly at the robot. It had come from no where!!!
Gij laughed softly and set his hand on Sobex’s back.

The drake crawled out of the ceiling before landing in Murdock's arms, its tail wagging. "Greetings, Dr. Murdock," it played

Sobex jumped away and over Gij’s lap, his tail waving up in the air. He yapped even louder, his voice raised loudly.

The drake wiggled around before looking over at Sobex. "Threat detected?" it asked questioningly

Gij laughed softly and stroked Sobex’s back. Sobex took no condolence from Gij and kept yapping and yapping and yapping, his tail thumping loudly.

"No, no, no threat. He's just a little surprised," Murdock explained to the drake. It wiggled a little, thumping its tail as it tried to wiggle away to go play with Sobex

Sobex growled playfully at the drake, sticking a paw out to boop the drake’s snoot. He yapped and straightened up again, hopping around.

Murdock squeaked as the drake wiggled entirely out of his arms to go wiggling after Sobex, purring happily
