"Yes because people really want to kill the insane asylum escapee, right?"
๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฎ ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ช๐ฌ๐ด๐ผ!
โI meant because of your line of work, babe,โ Sterling clarified.
"Once again, insane asylum escapee. Got caught on one of my jobs and convinced the officer I was just crazy so they locked me in a mental hospital for 10 months but I started actually going crazy after 6 so I broke out."
Sterling blinked and gave her an incredulous look. โYouโre life is an action movie, I swearโฆโ
"I try my best to keep it interesting." She shrugged.
โYou do a great job at that,โ Sterling chuckled, kissing her cheek.
"I mean, I certainly hope I do."
"My life has been very interesting with you in it."
"Interesting? Or just more work?"
"Interesting," Sterling said firmly, his arms tightening around her. "You are not just more work for me."
She smiled a little. "I seriously don't deserve you."
Sterling clicked his tongue, shaking his head a little. โYou deserve better than me. But letโs not argue about this.โ
Her smile turned sad. "Mom would've loved you." Her heart hurt to think about her parents.
Sterling reached up to cup her cheek gently, rubbing soft circles into her skin. โYeah? Iโm sure I would have loved her, too.โ
"Dad would've been a bit more hesitant. Like usual." She chuckled. "Would've asked a billion serious questions while Mom would ask a bunch of sweet and romantic ones."
Sterling chuckled. โYeah? Well, Iโm sure I wouldโve tried my hardest to impress them.โ
"Mom would've been won over from the start. I can see it now, her pulling me off to the side to gush about how I'd found such an amazing boy and I'd just stand there and listen."
โYeah? Well, Iโm glad you think so,โ Sterling said softly. โIโm glad I would have been approved.โ
"Dad would've been more skeptical though. Wondering if you loved his daughter for her personality or her body. And it'd take a bit longer to convince him than my mother."
"Well, I'm sure I would have eventually. I do know how to charm people," Sterling joked with a chuckle.
"Do you think your parents would like me? Or would they just be scared?"
"I'm sure they would love you," Sterling assured her gently. "My mother loves everyone, and she would find you incredibly interesting."
"Well that makes me feel better." She smiled a little. "If they're anything like their son then I'm sure we'll get along just fine."
Sterling chuckled and nuzzled her cheek gently. "I'm confident that you willโฆ"
"I love you." She smiled a little.
"Love you, too, babe," Sterling said softly, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. "What shall we do, now, hm?"
"Don't know. I don't have anything planned for today."
"What if we make something to eat? I'm kinda hungry," Sterling suggested.
"I can't cook, you can do that." She laughed. "I'm a theater major, not a culinary school graduate."
Sterling laughed and kissed her nose before sitting up. "Aw, hey! I'm sure you'd do fine! I'm no master, either, but I can cook some basic things."
