North frowned. "Really?"

M glared at her. "What about the word really makes you think I'll change my mind?"

"Sorry geez."

M shook his head irritably as if he had water in his ear. "Anyway, I have to go." He sighed. "It was great to see you again, North. Glad we could sort it out."

"Yeah. Bye.."

M shook his head and glared briefly at Neo, before walking to the doors to leave.

North watched him go, her face blank.

M pulled the doors open and squeezed through the crack he made, then shut it behind him.

North sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I think i'm gonna go too.."

Neo exhaled gently through his nose. "Sorry, North. I… didn't want you to see him like that."

"It's okay. I deserve it." She walked towards the doors and opened them. "Bye Neo."

Neo rose. "North, you didn't deserve it."

"Yes I did." She growled.

"No, you didn't. M was just being closed-minded. You shouldn't blame yourself for that."

North shook her head and took another step out the door.

Neo sighed and sat back down. "You and M are of the same mindset. Once you get a negative about yourself in your head, you never let it go, yet whenever a positive arises, you let it go like it's nothing."

"So now you're just telling me things about myself I already know?"

"Yeah, I suppose I am."

"Well, thanks I guess." North muttered, walking the rest of the way out the door. "Don't count on me tomorrow." She said, closing it behind her.

"You're the only thing that keeps me going," Neo murmured, "why shouldn't I count on you?"

North smiled a little back at Neo. "I just might not feel up to it. Maybe though."

Neo glanced up at her and turned a faint red. "I didn't know your hearing was so good."

North laughed warmly. "Bye." She said, walking back down the hallway.

Neo nodded a little to himself. "Yeah."

The smile faded off her lips as she continued to walk.

That was… hm… revealing.

M doesn't need me anymore.
