North turned back to the door and poked her head in. "Hey by the way i'm not coming tomorrow..I thought you had work?"

Neo turned the picture over so it was on his lap. "Why aren't you coming tomorrow?" His voice was quiet and constricted, kinda like the voice people use before they start to cry.

She ignored his question and stepped back into the room. "What's wrong?" She asked softly, hoping he would tell her.

Neo inhaled gently and set the picture back down into the desk. "Nothing. Nothing important. Why aren't you coming tomorrow?" Neo didn't want to admit it, but he liked having her around.

"Clearly it is important. Really Neo, what's wrong?"

Neo turned around in the chair to face her. "It's…" He shook his head. "It's totally ridiculous."

"It's probably not."

"It is. It's something you shouldn't have to worry about." He smiled kindly at her.

"Yeah but I am. Cause you're not usually not like this."

"I'm always like this at some point. It's no one's problem anymore." He sighed and seemingly deflated physically.

North looked at Neo, her head slightly tilted. "I'll come tomorrow, if you want." She said quietly.

He shrugged. "You shouldn't bother worrying about me if that's your intention."

"I don't have anyone else to worry about so why not you?" She laughed a little.

Neo didn't laugh, yet Zackary did.
He shook his head. "If you want," He supplied dully.

Shut up Zackary.
North walked over to Neo's desk and nodded down to the frame in his lap. "What is it?.."

Neo shrugged. "A picture." Vague, even for Neo.

"Yeah but it wasn't on the desk earlier and it's in your lap face down so I won't see it. If you want me to go just tell me."

"It's just… a picture of my family before they died." The last bit of the sentence his voice hardened and extremely bitter.

"Oh, sorry. I can go now." She said, taking a step back.

"No," Neo said quickly. "Imean…" He hastily cleared his throat. "Sorry."

North stopped. "Why are you apologizing?"

(xD I thought you died. I was about to hold a funeral)

"I don't think I'm worth the effort."

"You sound just like me." She muttered, smiling a little.

"Except what I'm saying is true. It's so true people have stopped caring about what happens to me."

"Well even so..you still have M, and now I guess, you have me too.."

Neo shrugged. "M is my twin, it's only acceptable that we care about each other."

"Well I don't know what say to that."
