Alex started awake a couple minutes later, the smell and crackle of his bacon touching his senses. He carefully set her down in the chair and hurried over to the stove.

Autumn blinked her eyes open and looked around sleepily for Alex. Seeing him at the stove, she smiled a bit and curled up in the chair.
