Soulmate(?) one on one (Closed)

Lucas was quiet for a moment. “N-No one else knows you live here, right?”

"Only a close friend.." said Skye softly.

“S-So… it’s safe here?” Lucas asked nervously. It had been a while since he was in a safe place.

"For the most part.." said Skye.

“For.. for the most part? What do you mean?”

"It's as safe as you can get in this neihborhood." he said.

Lucas glanced around, looking anxious. “W-What’s dangerous? Are we in danger?”

Skye quickly tried to calm him, "Hey.. it's okay…" he said, "I'm just saying that this isn't the nicest neiborhood, and things like theft, and other stuff is common around here… but no one's going to come in here unless it's a homeless dude or another street kid looking for a place to stay.."

Still not reassuring, but you know. “Well, I’m sure it’s a hell of a lot better than my place anyhow…”

Skye nodded, "To be quite honest I've never had a problem unless some gang is trying to catch me for protecting other street kids from their thugs…. which is not the case right now.."

“That’s good at least… h-how many street kids are there? Are you like… the street kid leader? God, that sounded really stupid…”

"Nah, I'm not a leader, I just don't like seeing younger kids get beat up. Especially since I know what It's like in their place…" he said quietly. "As for how many of us there are, well… there's more than you think"

Lucas nodded a bit. “I can believe it… l-life really sucks sometimes, huh?” He laughed weakly, looking away. “So… um… w-we should probably get to know each other better considering we’re soulmates and all… I’m Lucas, dunno if I’ve said that already or not, I’m… uh…” Lucas thought for a moment. It had been a while since he’d paid attention to his birthday. “I’m sixteen, and basically an orphan? Like, mom’s dead, Claus is dead, and dad… well, you know…”

Skye nodded, taking a moment to make sure he'd heard the other correctly, before answering. "Uhm.. I'm Skye, kinda an orphan too… seeing as my mom vanished when I was nine…" he said, "And I'm 17…"

“Let’s see, what else… uh, I’m gay. Claus was my twin brother for clarification. I… like dogs? I’m depressed? S-Sorry, I’m pretty bad at this… I don’t typically get to talk to anyone, especially people my age.”

Skye scooted up next to him, "It's okay…" he said, pulling him close, "Pretty sure I'm bi.. not sure if I have any siblings… uhm.." he shrugged.

Lucas’s face flushed a bit when Skye pulled him closer. Well, at least we have clarification on my homosexuality. “I think you and Claus would’ve gotten along…” He gently lay his head on Skye’s shoulder.

Skye smiled when the other rested his head on his shoulder, "I sure hope so…" he said

“Claus looked pretty much like me, but his hair was ginger instead of blond and his eyes were green instead of blue. He was also a lot more confident.”

Skye smiled, leaning back to lie on the matress and study the other curiously, listening to him.

"We'd argue a lot of course, b-but he was always there for me when I felt sad or… or w-when I needed help… but Claus was hasty, and… and a bit reckless, I suppose. T-That's what killed him…." Lucas looked down at the floor, trying to blink away the tears welling up in his eyes. "And I really miss him, y-you know?"

Skye tugged him into a hug, "I kinda wish I had words to help you out… but I didn't really have a family, so.." he sighed.

Lucas nodded slightly. "I-I don't think I ever really fully recovered from his death… losing a twin is probably worse than losing a parent, actually. It feels like… l-like a part of me is missing, almost… everyone always said he was the better twin."

Skye hugged him tighter, wishing he knew of some way to help.

"S-Sorry… I'm doing it again. What else about you?" Lucas asked, quickly trying to brush away his tears. No one cares about your problems, so stop talking about them.

"Hey.. it's okay… I like knowing what goes on in your life…" he said, "Good and bad.." he sighed, "As for me.. well… I've been on the streets since I was nine, been avoiding Child Services ever since my mom vanished. Uhm… My friend Marco help me out a lot by showing me how to live..after that I'm not sure what there is to say.."

Heh, that's assuming that good happens in my life. "Is Marco the one who knows you live here? Does he know that it wasn't actually you hurting yourself s-since it's all my fault?"

"I didn't tell him about the cuts… but yeah, he knows I live here…" he said.

“Maybe I could meet him at some point… I’m sort of bad at talking to new people, though.”

"You'll probably end up meeting him eventually…" said Skye, "I mean, we hang out all the time.."
