Soulmate(?) one on one (Closed)

Skye hummed in agreement, close to falling asleep.

We'll really need to get moving tomorrow… Lucas thought to himself before falling asleep as well.

Skye was already asleep, curled protectively around the other.

Lucas woke up in the middle of the night and yawned, looking around tiredly. He heard something in the bushes, and his brilliant 'I just woke up at two AM' brain decided to go investigate. He trotted out of the cave and shook out his fur after freeing himself from Skye's grasp.

(Is that an invitation for drama?!)
Skye yawned as he rolled over, shifting mid sleep.

(Yes of course, any good ideas?)
Lucas pushed through the bushes, enjoying the way that the grass felt on his paws.

(Evil grin)
Now what do we have here? thought the Hunter in the bushes as his eyes followed the golden retriever.

(Nooooice let's hurt the puppy)
Lucas sniffed the air. Something seemed off, but he couldn't tell what.
(He probably can't shift if he's injured so we could abuse that)

(That might actually help him a little…)
The hunter watched as the retriever sniffed the air, after stepping into his trap. Suddenly he let go of the rope he was holding, yanking the poor pup up into a net, just far enough away from the cave that his friends wouldn't hear him.

Lucas yelped and struggled against the nets. "Shit! Skye! Help!" He barked as loud as he could, but knew they likely couldn't hear him.

The hunter stepped out of the trees, unable to understand the pup's yelping as he cut down his catch and dug out a muzzle from his bag.

I have to stay like this… I can't let him know who I am. Lucas struggled against the Hunter's hold to no avail. He wondered what they even wanted with a dog anyways.

The hunter quickly slipped the muzzle on him, collating him. The collar was too tight and made it hard to breathe, but not impossible. "Now… assuming you might not be a normal dog, I'm going to assume you're at least a friend of that halfblood mutt, Skye." He told him harshly, "So guess what? You're the bait."

Bait? Damn… it sucks that I know that'll work. Lucas hung his head and whined, trying his best to act like he was an ordinary dog. They won't hesitate to hurt me, either.

The Hunter smirked, slapping him on the back of the skull before clipping a leash to the collar and dragging him along.

Lucas tried to resist for a bit, but eventually just became submissive and walked beside the man with his head low. Every once in a while, he whimpered quietly.

Every time he whimpered the man would kick him, yelling at him to shut up.

Lucas trembled as he walked. He tried to keep quiet, but he couldn't help it. At one point, he was desperate enough to bark loudly to try and get Skye's attention.

The hunter yanked him forward and picked him up by the collar, essentially choking him. "You sill shut up right now or you'll end up dead." He growled. Dropping him he kept on giving Lucas no time to recover.

Lucas stumbled to his feet shaking violently as the Hunter dragged him along. Where's He taking me, anyways? He turned his ears back and watched the ground while he walked past, his tail tucked between his legs.

The hunter soon led him into a clearing with several other hunters, all of which started laughing as they saw Lucas.

Lucas wanted to growl at them, but didn't want to get kicked again, so he kept quiet. He surveyed each of the hunters silently, luckily not seeing any he knew.

One of them yanked him forwards with some ropes, "Think he's big enough?" He asked.

Big enough? For what?? Lucas whimpered shakily, but didn't resist when they dragged him forward. He knew there wasn't much he could do about it.

He'll do the job whether he's big enough or not." Said another, pulling down branches and fashioning a sleigh before stacking their packs on it. Finally be used ropes to fashion a harness for Lucas.

What?! I can't do this! I'll collapse! Once the harness was tied to Lucas, he started tugging as hard as he could. The sleigh moved some, but not enough. He pulled even harder until he got it unstuck from the snow and then ran so it wouldn't crush him.

The hunters nodded, "before forcing him to lay down, going back to their campfire.

Lucas stay where he was laying in the snow, shivering. He wondered when, or if, he'd get to see Skye again. Nonetheless, he lay his head on top of his paws and fell asleep.

Skye yawned as he woke early the next morning, getting to his paws, as he had shifted back to wolf form later that night.

Lucas woke up as well, but in the hunters' camp. He was confused for a moment before remembering what had happened. He stood up and sighed, shaking the snow out of his fur.
