"U-uh. I don't really think that I should…" Griffin seemed flustered, a hundred yards away from his comfort zone. "I mean unless she wants to, then sure."
The Competition// one-on-one//Closed
Dierra gave him a lightl smile, "You don't have to, though I am going to try to beat Cassian." She shook out her arm and grinned.
"I…" Griffin hesitated. "I'll go against you. Best if I try to make friends here, I guess." Griffin propped his arm up on his knee, having to lean forward slightly.
She nodded and copied his pose, locking hands with him. She nodded and got ready, tensing her arm up, "Whenever you're ready."
"Sure. Go!" Griffin made an effort to win, but he doubted that he would. He gritted his teeth and pushed, not wanting to lose easily.
She closed her eyes in concentration and focused on trying to win. She could hear Cossett talking but she didn't pay attention, all of her strength going to wining.
Griffin saw the will to win in Dierra's face, and loosened his grip, not enough for people to notice, but just enough so that Dierra could win the match.
Dierra pinned his hand down, a triumphant smile on her face, "Ha!" she smiled softly at Griffin, "Nice try."
"Hm, I should really practice. Nice job." Griffin nodded slightly in approval in Dierra's direction, then looking towards the group. "My name's Griffin, if you didn't figure that out already."
"Cosstt," She said, nodding to him.
Cssian grinned, "and I'm Cassian." He pointed to Felix, "That's Felix."
Dierra nodded to him, "And I'm Dierra, nice to meet you all."
(I love how no one mentions Ari xD)
"That means she's Ari? If I'm using deduction correctly?" Griffin gestures to the shy girl, who seems to want to have nothing to with the team.
(XD Adrian too)
"Yeah, and that's her buddy Adrian." Cossett jabbed a thumb towards the boy sitting beside her, "They seem quiet, obviously." Cassian flopped down on one of the beds, rolling so that he was leaning against Cossett.
Felix rolled his eyes, "I could have introduced myself Cass," he leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, looking down at him.
"Nah, you're too stuck up for that." Cassian joked, grinning at him.
"Am not!" He protested, causing Dierra and Cossett to start laughing.
Griffin rolled his eyes. "Nice to know that we're all a big funhouse," Griffin joked. "Just be sure that you're ready when they face us off against another team, okay? We can't afford people on our team dying-not yet at least."
Cossett waved a hand dismissively, "We know, it's just nice to have fun one last time before your possible death." She poked Cassian in the side and Dierra shook her head, a small smile on her face as she silently told Griffin that things would be ok.
"Mm. Any other games we can play to pass the time besides arm wrestling? I don't seem to be the best at that." A sheepish, small smile showed itself on his face, and he rubbed his neck in nervousness.
"Mafia? Truth or Dare? duck duck goose?" Felix suggested with a shrug, "I would suggest Tag or Hide and Seek but those wouldn't be fun here."
Cassian grinned and tapped Cossett's shoulder, whispering something in her ear, "No!" She yelled playfully, blushing slightly as she pushed Cassian away from herself and stood up, "Just no!"
"What? I'm up for anything, really." Griffin looked curiously at Cassian, hands folded in his lap. "Just no killing, please. That's the government's job."
"It-" He started
"Inside joke, don't worry about it," Cossett quickly buted in, claping a hand over Cassian's mouth, "Right? Just an inside joke?" She 'asked' him.
He nodded, "Msid goc," He said through her hand, trying to say, "Inside joke."
Dierra chuckled and put her hands over her eyes, "You guys, we're teenagers, not three year olds." She smiled at Griffin and Felix, "I'm fine with any game."
"Yeah, we're not wusses. Well, not all of us are, at least. Really, how bad could it be?" Griffin had a cocky grin, and he shrugged, "I mean, we could just sit around here and be bored instead…"
Cassian pushed her hand off of his mouth and he grinned, "It has to do with Cossett and a very dumb thought,"
"Cassian!" She smiled, obviously not as mad as she tried to sound. She crossed her arms and sat on the edge of a bed, blushing furiously.
"-as I said, there was another kid in her neighborhood, a guy to be precise, and he was hitting on her, like, Really hitting on her, dirty jokes and everything else. She was completely oblivious to it and it was hilarious to watch, she was so flustered and confused and I kinda turned it into a game of sorts, though she's gotten too good at the game to play it anymore." He said, a small smirk on his face, "Right?
She looked at the floor with a small smile, "Shut it."
"Well then, I'll play it, as long as it's fun. I'm a freaking teenager; I think I can handle it. So, how do we play?" Griffin stood up, smiling his first genuine-looking smile since he'd arrived. "Hopefully no tests of brute strength?"
"Nope, only hitting on people and seeing if or how they reject you. I named the game Fluster." Cassian stretched his fingers and grinned, "We need more than two people to play though."
"Count me in," Dierra said, nodding at the other two.
Felix sighed, "Fine," He grumbled, "'But this better be good."
Cassian nodded, "I'm sorry Dierra, but you're the only girl playing so you might be hit on by all three of us. Alright, so how you play, you first find who you're going to try to fluster," He pointed at Dierra and she nodded, "Then you basically start with super innocent and easy flirting and you move up with dirtier and better flirting and so on, and they can either reject you with a super cool comeback, or they can flirt back, then it moves to the next person, whoever is rejected the least wins."
Crap, I can't flirt if I tried. Why am I so socially awkward!? "Psh! Easy! You call that a game?" Griffin chuckled, his inner thoughts heavily contradicting his words. Great, another game to lose…
"I can handle this," Dierra said, shaking out her arms and smiling at the guys, "I'm ready when you are."
"I'll go first for an example," Cassian said, clearing his throat and putting on a semi flirty face, "Hi beautiful, did we go on a date once? or was it twice?"
Dierra put on a slightly serious face and shrugged, "Must've been once, I never make the same mistake twice."
Felix smirked, "You just got thoroughly rejected Cassian."
"That one was good." Cassian said, chuckling, "Who wants to start?"
"Hey, can I talk to her privately? It's something a bit personal." Griffin kept his face straight. "Plus, none of y'all can flirt with her if you don't know her. For a first, I don't think she'd fall for flirting. Secondly, I can tell that she wants all of us to lose; she pays attention, so it's best to surprise Dierra that to all be in a group and tell her face-to-face, one after another. Finally…I don't really think she's interested in any of us, and that's me being nice."
Cassian raised an eyebrow and glanced at Griffin, "I can't tell if you're being serious or if you're trying to win.."
"I'm right here you know," She waved a hand and nodded, "Sure, we can talk."
Felix shrugged, "You might be right Griffin, though you might not be." He sat down next to Cossett and Dierra stood up.
Griffin led her to the far end of the room, and he sat down on his bed. "Okay, I don't care if I win or lose, just answer this: do you want me to flirt with you? I-honest to god-suck at flirting and the things in the movies aren't in real life, so I'd rather you okay it than I fail miserably and embarrass myself. I've already let you win once, but don't let that be a reason to say yes." Griffin sighed and leaned against the wall.
Dierra followed him and sat down across from him, "You know, I think it's kinda fun to see the bad flirting, but it's up to you." She grinned lightly, "Wait, you let me win?"
"Wait, you didn't notice?" Griffin joked, a smile on his face. "You were kind of cute when you looked determined to win, so I loosened my grip. Are you okay with that, or would you rather I play mercilessly?"
She rolled her eyes and grinned, "Shut up, I'm not cute." She glanced at him and shrugged, "When we have to work as a team i'd say mercilessly, but don't go easy on me. I can hold my own."
